We have 60″ round tables to cover… I would like to do Black, Satin, tablecloths… my question is… what size cloths? Will people notice if they are “too short”… it’s an elegant-ish wedding and I don’t want to blow it with something silly like this.
90″ cloth – 15 inch drop
108″ cloth – 24 inch drop
120″ cloth – to the floor

To the floor is the most elegant in my opinion.

We are using 108″ tablecloths for the same size tables. They are only about 6 inches from the floor.

To the floor is for sure more elegant. I don’t know if people would notice BUT…I would. Where are you getting your linens from? There shouldn’t be that much difference in price.

We are also having an “elegant-ish” wedding. And I really wanted floor length tablecloths but, like you, I didn’t want to waste money, so I asked my family members what they thought. Of all of the weddings that we have been to, we haven’t really noticed the tablecloths, except that if they were long, they would get in the way, so we decided to just go with the ones the venue includes. They are very nice, but they don’t go to the floor. They look very nice for pictures, but we are having a lot of elderly people there and I don’t want to take the chance of them getting hung up in them. Having shorter tablecloths won’t detract from the elegance and it will give us peace of mind and save us a lot of money. If you have it in your budget and you have your heart set on them, I say go for it, but it really won’t make a difference to your guests whether you have short versus long, except that they won’t get hung up in them.

I was planning on efavormart.com… ..
90″ — $7.59
108″ — $10.65
120″ — $12.70
I need 30 tablecloths

Are you determined to buy them or would you consider renting and have you gotten prices yet? Are you having a large wedding, cause that’s a lot of tablecloths!
This seller has some in 90″ for just $5 including shipping. Check out their store and see what else he has you could use.

when is your wedding? I just bought black linens at a discount and will be looking to sell them after my wedding. I went with 120′ because they were on sale. If you are doing 8 to 9 people at the table, I think you would be fine with 108.

I’m glad someone asked this question!
So, if the table is 60″, the 108″ tablecloth is about 6″ inches shy from the floor?
Anyone have pictures of that? (I’m having a hard time visualizing). Sorry, don’t mean to takeover thread. 🙂

Thanks for your help everyone! And you are definitely not taking over the thread! : ) Happy to be helped and happy to help other brides. Seeing the pictures really helped me!!! My wedding is actually 10-16-10…. 23 days… lol… : ) I’m guessing I won’t be able to buy yours from you, but that would have been AWESOME!!!! I think I might go with the 108″ but would secretly love to do 120″. : )

Smyley – I DEFINITELY want to buy… the prices to rent around here are actually MORE! Plus, I can resell them and make a little back! : ) Seems like a win win to me. : )

tablecloths that go all the way to the floor may look elegant but are actually really uncomfortable to sit at. I recently attended a wedding that had such table cloths and it was quite annoying and bothersome to sit at that table with this super long cloth laying in my lap. I will not put my guests through that, I will have table cloths with a reasonable drop so the guests dont feel that they are carrying pools of fabric on their lap

We had 120″ tablecloths on both our 60″ and 72″ tables. This picture isn’t the greatest, but it should at least give you the idea.
