I’m trying to start figuring out our “tablescape” or whatever you call it these days. These are my wedding colors:
I’m doing everything DIY, from napkin rings to table runners to centerpieces. I’m likely doing disposable plates/cups since I don’t have the extra $600 to blow on a china service. (Yep, I checked, that’s what it costs.) I have a little money to get nicer disposables though, maybe the “china-like” look or nice clear plastic plates, and the silver-look cutlery.
One thing that’s for sure is that the tablecloths will be ivory – they’re being supplied by the venue for no charge, and that’s the color they have.
So if you were me, what would you do? Which color(s) would you use for the runners, napkin rings, napkins, etc? I’m a proficient seamstress and I wield a mean glue gun. 🙂

What about choosing one of those colors for each table?

What other colors are you choosing? For BMs dresses? For flowers? What is the venue like?

do you have a theme?? your colors are pretty autumnal but are you trying to steer away from or towards autumn leaves and pumpkins?? is rustic or country something you had in mind or more fancy??
otherwise, i think chocolate brown table runners, cloth napkins in the oranges, blue and green (solid colors, just a different one at each setting) with either a rustic, grapevine ring or golden-toned metal ring (depending on that rustic or fancy question above). i think the brown would be a nice base and then spreading those colors around the table in small amounts will keep it from getting too busy or garish.
also, if you’re leaning towards rustic, have you considered burlap?? i am having a rustic wedding in august and plan on making these table runners. rustic, but also feminine.
ps-i heart gourds, if you’re embracing the autumnal theme, gourds in vases, like this, are so classy yet country!

Chicagogrrl, love the colors and love the site you lined to. Looks really fun, I can’t wait to go play in there! And Vagabondgurl’s idea look wonderful! Love the gourds for fall.
(P.S. Vagabondgurl, have you got any great inspirations for a December 30 wedding? 😉 I’m calling the theme “relaxed elegance.” I’ll start a separate thread so as no to butt in on Chigagogrrl.)

I’m not a very rustic or country-kitchen kind of girl – very modern, clean lines, etc. I decided not to have a theme so that I’d have more freedom in design. This may have been a mistake because now I can’t pick a direction. 🙂
I’m waiting for swatches before we pick the bridesmaid’s colors, but I’m leaning towards burnt orange or teal. My flowers are going to be based on orange lilies but have the rest of the wedding colors incorporated. (Etsy seller Rationale is doing my flowers. Check her out, she’s amazing.)
I like the idea of the brown table runners with the solid colored napkins in complementary colors, but of course, this means I’m probably dooming myself to sewing napkins, which I was considering since I’m trying to be more eco-friendly, but it’s going to take a lot of time. I think that’ll look great, though. Definitely going to hit the Joanns this weekend and check out some fabric options (yay coupons).

They only come in white with silver, but CVS pharmacy sells some very classy looking disposable plates and such.

Love the colors. I know that the “peacock” theme is in right now with deep teals, purples, greens. That seems like it might be close to what you want with a splash of orange. So you might look into that.
For me, I just googled all of my wedding colors and added wedding reception to the end and got some amazing photos… here’s what I found for yours in a quick search…

oh ok… more modern then. hmmm… what about square pillars, in your colors, on silver or gold or some other solid square base, like a charger? i don’t know why but when i think modern i think more geometric/lines than fluid/circles.
something similar to these??

You could definitely do the clear glass square vases (check dollartree for them) and then you could either get the orange or teal or combo of those colored candles. If you want, you could check out http://www.efavormart.com or http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com (which I used) for colored table runners (or a skinnier sash instead of table runners). Are your tables round or long? Does your venue have high ceilings, or will you be having an outdoor reception. If you are having an outdoor reception I would also consider having mirrors under the candles to help you get more lighting if your reception will be at night.
