we covered the standard linnens with lace, it only really covered the table tops but it made the cheaper white linnens look fabulous. I ordered the lace from Joann Fabrics all at once using a 40% off coupon.

If lace isn’t your thing maybe you could fins a nice sheer fabric in one of your colors to make a nice color splash.

The linens don’t really have to match your dress.  However, if you are doing other ivory stuff, you might use an overlay in one of your colors to tie the tables together with your other decor.

As for the chair covers, you will probably find that buying them costs about the same as renting them–and if you buy, you can resell after the wedding.  You might check out LinenTableCloth.com.

I am getting my linens mailed to me and I ordered them through rentablecloths.com they are way cheaper than anything I found around me.
