Very creative! If I were a guest, I would think that was a cute idea.

They’re cute, though I have to say, numbered tables are easier to find. If you’re looking for Bar Harbor and all you can see around you is Paris, Rome, and Madrid, you have no idea what direction to look to get to the right table. So could you do like “1) Bar Harbor”?

I think it’s really fun!  We’re doing something sort of similar and to help guests find their tables more easily we’re alphabetizing the table names that way, people will still need to snake through the tables and take a look but they’ll have an idea of the direction they should be heading.

I think they are a fun idea – it shows that you’ve put a lot of thought into it.  My venue actually advised against the table names though because it tends to confuse the servers.  I realize they might have just told me that because they didn’t feel like putting up with the hassle – who knows.

If you don’t mind….I might steal the idea!! The more I think about it, the cuter I think it is!!

I have to 1,000% agree with adding numbers as well or at least organizing them in some other easy fashion (alphabetical?).  While I agree that you’ll want other people to walk around and look at the tables and all the hard work you did, you probably don’t want them to do this as they’re being shuffled in from cocktail hour.  Usually this is when you’re lining up for your entrance and you’ll want to spend every moment you can enjoying your reception instead of waiting in the hallway for everyone to take their seats.  Let them walk around during the dancing part or at least after dinner.

We ended up doing table numbers that included a picture of each of us as we were growing up.  People told me how much they enjoyed walking around the reception room meeting new people and looking at our pictures.  I am all for personalizing your reception with table numbers/names!
