Instead of holders I am using street address numbers. You know the kind that are on the side of a house to show their street number?  I am leaning them against a vase so they stand up straight. You can get some casual rustic looking/antique-y ones….

I did a table number lantern for my wedding.  All it takes is some paper and an exacto knive to make.  I have a picture of the idea from some other girl and my actual lantern if you want to see.  I had the table number on 2 sides and the menu on the other two sides.  PM w/your email address if you want me to send you pictures.

Hi!  I haven’t tried this out yet, but my idea for my own outdoor casual wedding is to use either long skinny twigs, or even shish-kebab skewers!  I am going to punch a hole at the top and bottom of my numbers (the numbers themselves are on 4×6 paper cards) run the stick through the holes so it stands up like a flag, and then put the stick in the centerpiece flowers.

here’s an idea like the one hulafish suggested, if you go to nancy liu chen’s home page there’s an image of the table number being held up by sticks…we want to recreate that for our wedding as well…

Also, I just saw this on a website, this woman used a pine cone and dipped it in white paint, but for a more summer outdoor look you can take a pine cone and spray paint it gold or silver. Hope that helps!
