My fiance and I met in Honduras, and are naming our guest tables after locations in Honduras that have significant meaning to us. We are also having table numbers to go along with the names (for example: Table 1 will be labeled with “Table 1: Tegucigalpa”). To help decorate the place card table, I thought it would be really neat to print out and frame a map of Honduras, and mark each location that we have named a table after with the number of the table. My question is, how should I mark the locations on the map?? The only idea I can come up with is pushpins, but I’m not crazy about it (mostly because there doesn’t seem to be a good way to write numbers on pushpins). Any creative bees out there have any good ideas? 🙂

You could cut out each number from the map paper and then frame the number and write the location underneath. kind of like bakerella did in this post (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/first-year-wedding-anniversary-gift-ideas) but with numbers instead of people/hearts. Then you could draw a little heart around the location or you could do a star on the location like a PP said.

I made a reception map because we’re using characters instead of numbers as table identification and I didn’t want people wandering the room unable to find their table. I printed the characters on cardstock, cut them out, matted them on black cardstock and pasted the matted characters to a map of the reception area. I also put in the bar, the dance floor and the DJ. I wrote “Welcome!” and “Please have a seat at your table!” also on the map. I put the whole thing in a frame that will be standing next to the name cards. I didn’t take a pic of it or I would show you! Are your tables going to be arranged like Honduras? I am just rereading your post and I may not have done what you were asking about. Anyway good luck!
