We are getting married 8.29.09 and our theme is “seasons of love”. I was thinking of naming the tables after the seasons and having corresponding centerpieces (ex. summer: sand and shells, winter: pine cones and snow, falll: leaves and pumpkins, spring: grass with flowers).
Of course there are only 4 seasons and we are having 12-16 tables. I was thinking of doing the 4 seasons in other languages, then also having the other tables called love in different languages with heart shaped centerpieces.
Thoughts?
Another idea we had was to get pictures of us in some of the favorite places where we spent time dating and name the tables after those. Then possibly have the picture of us with an explanation of what the signifigance is for the centerpiece?

What about sticking with your theme of "seasons of love" and posting pictures of family members at the tables? Then you can label one table "Winter 1976" and for instance your parents wedding picture added to the other items you are thinking of.

Oh my, what a great conversation starter for your guests. I love it when centerpieces are complex like this. I like your idea of your favorite places, especially if you & your Fiance have traveled a lot together. I can just imagine: Fall in Chicago or Spring in Paris

Unfortunately ladies, we aren’t that exciting and haven’t traveled that much. We are from Pittsburgh, and our places are more where we spent a lot of time over the course of our 7 year dating history. For example, before we started dating, we spent our lunch hours getting to know each other in Mellon Park. So we could have a table Summer in Mellon park with a picture of us at our spot. He first told me he love me on the Gateway Clipper, so we could have a picture of us on the boat, etc.
So if the tables are done this way, we just need a picture of us in a frame with a description of the significance, right? No need for elaborate centerpieces?

Form dup post:
I love the idea of naming tables after places you’ve been together. To tie in your “seasons of love” theme, what if you did something like:
“Winter in New York” (with a pic of you both there), “Summer in the Outer Banks (pic), etc… of course, you’d use places you’ve actually been and could even have “Autumn in… ” and “Winter in..” if you’ve been to the same place a few different times. GL!

I used the shop, SCRAPBITS on Etsy and ordered cardstock circles and personalized round stickers. I am going to put the sticker on one side and then write the table # on the other side of the cardstock circles. Then I ordered wire card holders from AllegroArt shop on Etsy (allegroartstudio.com) to put the circles in.

or, you can make the concept into your dream places to go to. I remember this movie starring George Clooney (as a pilot) where he took pictures of the cardboard replicas of his soon-to-be-married sibling and fiance in some of the key landmarks across the country.
Here’s a collection of frames you can choose from:
