I heard about this awhile ago, and I totally want to do it–
Instead of having standard numbers 1-25 or whatever for table numbers, use cute numbers from your relationship, and then have a little explanation at each table.
from the cute: “9: August 9, our first date.”
to the ridiculous “4.25: the most expensive cost of gas while M & G were driving long distance to see eachother.”
or “220: the total number of days M & G were engaged”

I think it’s quirky and fun. I like it :o)

I have always loved that idea ,,, my only concern is with bigger weddings people might be wandering around looking for their obscure table #

Sounds like a really cute idea! I’m thinking if you put them in a logical order (even if it’s not 1, 2, 3… you could have them in an increasing numerical order as you go through the room), then people should be able to find their table.

We used “dates” for our table numbers & set up the seating chart the same way/order the tables were set up… almost like a “floorplan”
We didn’t have a huge wedding & only had 10 tables, but I would think that it still would work for a larger wedding!

I think that’s a really cute idea if you can execute it well enough. The idea FutureMrsBondo posted is great. It sounds like a great converstion starter for the guests at each table.
