hi everyone, Im new to the boards,
for our table numbers, im struggling to find something nice to do. were getting married at a place thats quite vintage, rustic etc.
i was thinking vintage photo frames with the love quote in them, but do you think numbering them or naming the table after the person who made the quote? im stuck and hubby to be doesnt mind either way.
why do these small things seem to matter so much right now when i know on the day i wont even think about it probably! hhhmmm …
thanks for your help!

I’d go with numbers and not names with quotes— you can still put quotes on them if you want— guests often have a negative reaction when they can’t figure out if the Poe table is next to the Hemmingway table or the Dickens table or what that means if you’re supposed to be at the Tolstoy table. Numbers are nice and logical, and if you’re standing near table 4 and need to go table 9, it’s pretty easy to figure out the directions.

@fishbone: +1!
Or if you have to go with non-numbers, alphbetize them so at lesat there’s somewhat of a rhyme or reason to where the tables are located.

thats a very good point! i appreciate your input thanks!!! think ill stick with numbers. i just felt like the 10th table might feel “less special” if that makes sense, cos they are last – and will probably be at the back.

If you’re setting up a small bar in the dining area, putting your “last” table next to the bar can be seen as a plus by many!!! Our Table 9 actually said “we thought we were at the bad table till we saw how close to the bar we were!!”
