Hello fellow bees:)
I want to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what else I could use instead of the ordinary basic one color table runners. I’ve been to a wedding with runners made of burlap recently and I absolutely LOVED it! Well, I loved the idea of having something else, something different.
My colors are pale, pastel grey, pastel purple (lavender) with some touches of pastel yellow. The theme for my wedding is “rugged and elegant”.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions they could throw my way? I’d appreciate any help! Pictures, anything!!!

I’m not sure that something like this would work with your theme, but I tie-dyed my table runners in our wedding colors. We were going very casual, and love to tie dye, so it made sense.

On one of my posts a bride had photos of her tables where she used barn boards. I loved here whole theme. Heres the post
Please share your vintage wedding decor pics or ideas

Purple is a regal color- a color of royalty- so it could be the elegant. Burlap could be your rugged.
You can purchase burlap in other colors.
Obviously you could also use any fabric you like with the colors of your choice.

We made our table runners (well my wonderful mother in law to be did!).
I found a fairly cheap fabric that I liked in our color scheme and had it shipped to her. They turned out amazing and are really going to ‘make’ the look of our tables. Total cost to us was $70 (for the fabric).
Do you know anyone who could make them?… Or you could even pay someone to do it, a local tailor something… I can’t imagine it woul be that expensive since they are a very simple pattern.
I got my fabric from fabric.com – it is a Premier Prints fabric… they have a lot of nice prints and color combos.
As an example, here’s some that might fit your colors (they have a bunch in grey and lavender):

@julies1949: This has got to be my favorite idea so far. I really do love the burlap and with the purple? Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I love all the different ideas actually! I would have never thought of any of these ideas.

I got various colourful quilting fabrics from Harts Fabric and cut it down to size.
Oh and after the wedding, I’m going to make a wedding quilt from the fabric!
… Actually, I’m only having table runners since I wanted the wedding quilt so now it’s dual function

Use ribbon on burlap or color runners of your choice. I think these are great and you can incorporate ribbon elsewhere like on chairs, fans, menu cards and your other accessories.

This might be more traditional than you’re looking for, but I’m doing lace table runners! Here’s a picture of one on my ping-pong table:

@likelimeade: Where did you find the lace for the runner? I’m trying to find something similar that won’t need to be cut to the right width.
