Are your colors popular or more unique? You could try buying used ones if possible and then resell those. Depending on the type it might be cheaper that way. But if you have a linens package, could you negotiate adding runners?

netflixandchill:  Runers are pretty inexpensive to buy, probably less expensive than renting.

Check out http://www.cvlinens.com   They have various types of runners but the organza ones are 98 cents,  satin ones are $2.09 each, pintuck $2.89  etc

There are lots of other wedding linen vendors:

http://www.linentablecloth.com

You can also do a search on http://www.searchtempest.com  It shows ads from all Craigslist sites and includes ads from Kijiji and Ebay

Linentablecloth offers satin runners at 98 cents, etc. So reasonably priced! I bought 15 for my wedding and they’re beautiful in person. I wouldn’t bother renting.

netflixandchill:  We had a similar dilemma but with chair sashes. We ended up buying them as it was actually cheaper than renting (I found a wholesaler so they were like £1/$1.50 each), and I felt it was less hassle than having to arrange delivery and collection with the rental company and venue. We can probably resell ours as they’re ivory (will probably list them later this year), but it wasn’t a priority as they were cheaper than renting anyway (I just don’t like chucking stuff out, it seems wasteful).

my table runners literally cost like $3 each online… I would just buy them and not bother trying to sell them after.

netflixandchill:  I bought satin table runners. I was originally going to buy just one to make sure I loved them but I figured for the $15 that 15 of them would cost – it wasnt much of a loss if I didnt like them. Thankfully I love them anyway! We have reseda green satin and they’re very pretty. We’re pairing them with lavender table cloths we bought from the site as well (You can see them in the back)

This is a terrible picture, as I had just pulled a runner out of the box and put it on a table but hopefully it’ll be of help! Our wedding is outdoors so it won’t be very fancy but the satin could definitely look great at a formal reception too!

P.s. The runners were 98cents each! The napkins on the site are awesome as well, we bought packs of 12 for $4! Cheapest I’d see anywhere. They offer tons, we chose to use different colors but they have a lot that you can match up. Good luck!

emmmmru:  Thanks for the heads up on the napkins!!  I ordered all of my tablecloths from them a few weeks ago when 120 inch tablecloths were $6.50 each.  Talk about a good deal!!!  Right now, their napkins are $4.50 each which is great… just wondering if it will be even less at some other point.  Definitely great quality from my first order though!!
