Hello Hive —
I think that the details are going to drive me crazy… and that’s why I need your help.
If you attended a wedding, and the tablecloths were 6 inches from the ground – would you notice? Would you think its tacky? Or would you not think twice about it?
Here’s the situation – I have the opportunity to buy 120″ round tablecloths for my reception at a discounted price. The tables are 72″ rounds – leaving a 6″ gap between the floor and the tablecloth all around. I will be using chaivari chairs.
What would you do? Am I overthinking this?
Here’s a photo for reference for what a 72″ table with a 120″ tablecloth looks like. PLEASE NOTE: I feel like these pictures are a little deceptive because they are on grass – not a hard floor…

I would never notice/care about something like this. I’ve never left a wedding and thought “wow, I cant believe their linens didnt touch the floor!”. I leave and think “wow! that was so fun! awesome music/food/atmosphere”.

I wouldn’t notice….I don’t think people really pay attention to stuff like that unless you just have a person that trying to pick out stuff. Trust me, I know those type of people, but I wouldn’t notice.

Honestly, after planning a wedding for almsot 2 year, tablecovers are one of the least of my worries. NOBODY notices, NOBODY cares. As a guest, and a planner, I can confirm this.

They look perfect to me 🙂

I think they will be fine- also lessens the chance of someone’s foot getting caught on the linens and pulling the tablelcoth.

I’m doinf the same thing with 108 inch cloths on 60 inch tables. I don’t think anyone will notice. I hate going to weddings and having to attempt not to step on the table cloths, but maybe that’s just me.
Oh and I’m not sure where you are getting your cloths or for what price but Tableclothsfactory has pretty good prices if you catch them on sale. I used them and spent like 200 dollars for 13 table cloths and 125 napkins.

Same here, except it’s a 108 for a 66 round table. = 9 inch gap. Do you think it’ll look all right…?

I’ll be honest, I don’t love the feeling of having a table cloth against my legs, trying not to step on it, being afraid I’ll be the person who accidentally yanks it off when I go to stand up, and other ridiculous thoughts.
