Ok so I need some advice ladies!! My wedding colors are black and lime green. I will try and post a picture of the exact color of green to give you a better idea. I am having black satin chair covers with a green sash on the chairs. Should I use all black satin tablecloths with green runners or a couple people had mentioned to me about alternating the colors of tablecloths and runners. For instance one table have a black tablecloth green runner, and the next table have a green tablecloth with a black runner. Is this a stupid idea? Would it look bad? What are your opinions?

This is the color green we have decided to use. It looks different in person because of the flourescent lights above in this picture… not to mention the lights won’t be on like this during the reception. It isn’t nearly this bright in real life.

I would go with black chair covers with black sashes and then green table cloths with a black sheer overlay or black runner. Alternatively a black table cloth with green napkins.
You don’t want it to look like you forced the color into everything just to match.
I think bringing in the colors like the picture below is the sophisticated way to go.
While this combination is not very sophisticated at all

ya i agree with the poster above. I’m always wary about things looking too matchy matchy. I would nix the chair sashes all together.

I LOVE the first picture, have seen it many times and wish that our reception could look like that one but we have folding chairs at our venue and they must be covered. I also have thought about bringing in the damask as well but fiancee’ isn’t crazy about the damask but pretty much told me whatever I wanted. I feel a little bad using it but still might… haven’t decided for sure yet!

I think green with black accents like sashes.

@KLB264: I would totally recommend bringing in another neutral color like white or silver to defuse the two very strong colors you have picked out. With just two colors in a room, the room can look a little….forced and flat. But with other coordinating colors it will look more layered and well thought out. My mom thought I was crazy because I kept adding colors to my wedding color scheme, (I ended up with 5 colors in total.) But when it all came together she reluctantly admited that it was the right thing to do.
I think the damask runners would be a nice touch. I’m not a huge fan of chair covers or sashes but sometimes there’s no way getting around them. They can still look sophisticated if you don’t tie the sashes into big bows but make them simple and streamlined.

For my wedding I did Black Chairs, Green (APPLE/LIME) Table cloths and the damask (BLACK AND WHITE DESIGNED) table runners. and I received so many compliments on it and I loved it. It looked amazing.
I still have the table runners I made for my wedding. They look similar to the ones on the second post. You could put it on rectangle tables or circular. They are about 6 feet long and 1 foot wide and I have 25. If you are interested in that look I am willing to sell them to you. Just let me know
Good luck! 🙂
P.S. I also have a ring bearer pillow and basket to match if your interested.
