Hey bees. Fiance has decided that I’m getting a tablet for my birthday this week (yay!!) since I’ve been on the fence about wanting one for like six months and he knows fully well I’ll just whine about wanting one until someone else buys it for me.
I’ll use it for work, but more for accessibility reasons than anything- checking and sending emails (I don’t have a smartphone to do this on and either way I can’t really do emails longer than a line or two on my phone). I don’t really anticipate needing to keep music on it, since I don’t really listen to music on the run, but audio books might be cool. Other than that it’s basically a time-killer so I can surf the internet between cases or when I’m on the go. I already have a Kindle, so I don’t need it as an e-reader either.
We’re interested in keeping it under $300, preferably closer to $200. I refuse to spend more than that on what is essentially an email-enabled toy. I know most of them are way more expensive than that, but I just don’t need a high-performance machine to check Facebook (and Weddingbee!). I’m looking at either the Kindle Fire or a very cheap Vizio model I found at Sam’s Club, but I’d be open to other suggestions too. Anyone have recommendations or suggestions?
