I agree with other bees and will definetly be having a glass or two of champagne with my Mum and BMs in the morning, which i’m already looking forward to. As long as you know your limits and don’t turn up drunk lol.

@UpstateCait: I know, I intended on keeping it to myself because I figured I’d get a lot of shit for it. Obviously in Cali its more accepted but I assume I’m not a part of “polite” society lol! It actually eases my nerves to hear that other people are contemplating this. I have wicked nerves and my anxiety causes headaches, so I feel better knowing I’ll be able to calm down. If I drink I’ll just look a mess.

We drank a huge bottle of champagne in the limo before the ceremony, it was split between 10 people (about 2 glasses each i suppose??) It was fun and it made taking pictures a blast.

I wouldnt recommend doing it RIGHT before you walk down the aisle (like drink, open the door and walk type thing) I just dont see why you would want to…

    but a drinks before..AWSOME!

I personally don’t see a problem with it EXCEPT your Fiance specifically asked you not to. So out of respect to him I’d just wait till after if I were you.

I think there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a tasty beverage before your vows… I won’t be dabbling before my wedding but only b/c my mom isn’t cool like yours lol.  Just know your limits and don’t be wasted at your own wedding!

I fully expect my fiance and his boys to have a beer or a shot of something before the ceremony, but I haven’t given much thought to whether I’ll be enjoying a beverage beforehand. I suppose if there’s champagne handy, I’ll drink it!

I had a glass of champagne and a cup of tea while getting my make up done. Somewhere between the two I felt better afterwards so I say, as long as you don’t end up shozzled go for it!

We had mimosas ready to go while getting ready.  The bridesmaids and moms and stylists enjoyed them but when the time came i just couldn’t do it.  I am headache prone and I knew I wasn’t going to eat very much throughout the day so I was afraid of getting a crazy headache before the ceremony. I would have though.  I know girls who took shots in the limo before walking down the aisle though, and I would never have done that.  Whatever makes you feel relaxed though, as long as you don’t get too tipsy!

“I had no idea the Bee was full of potheads!! ;-)”

Lol!! Well, usually its the mellow bunch just browsing and clicking around the bee, not getting into any drama or fights – that would kill the buzz! ๐Ÿ˜›

My mom made mimosas while I got ready and I drank them through a straw while getting my hair and make up done ๐Ÿ™‚

My husband got a bottle of nice scotch and sipped on a little with a few of his close guy friends before the ceremony. There is a great picture of me daintily sipping scotch in my dress and then making a horrible face because I don’t really like scotch.

Oh, man.  I don’t have any useful advice but want to say this is my favorite thread in a long time.  ๐Ÿ˜€
