    Very cute as long as there is a cohesive look i.e. similar fabrics and color tone.

    I think it’s better that way because of being different shapes and sizes!

    I dont think it is tacky, but it isn’t something I would do because I do like the look af all of them wearing the same dress and color BUT, if you have enough BM’s it could look really cute!

    I love that they get to pick the dress!  Every girl has a different figure and I think this is an amazing way to let them find something that they can be comfortable in. I also think it looks so cute in pictures!

    @MapleMoose:  Agreed.

    Nothing is worse than dresses that are too formal or informal all mixed together. The dresses need to have the same feel overall despite having a different design.

    David Tutera beat me over the head with this via his show. 😛

    Not tacky at all! You want your bridesmaids to feel beautiful and sometimes that involves different styles for different girls. I would definitly keep the same color and possibly fabric if they can.

    I much prefer the look of different dresses. Unless every one of your girls is the exact same size, sticking them in the same dress almost never works out. Someone will be undoubtedly be uncomfortable.

    I gave my girls some simple guidelines (color, length & fabric) and let them choose their own dresses. Everyone was beautiful and comfortable on our wedding day.

    I think this certainly works for more vintage, laid back wedding!! Wouldn’t be a bad idea to give the girls some guidelines and ask them to show your photos before they purchase them though 🙂

    I think this is the absolute best thing to do for your bridesmaids. Just make sure they have a similar look like several bees mentioned. It looks great in pictures because they can choose styles they look good in, and it is great for budget conscious BMs.
