First that’s horrible.  I hope this word gets around!

Second, find another seamstress FAST. We have to take in MANY sizes sometimes, including full lace gowns.  You do not cut straight up the lace, there is no need at all why the lace pattern should be destroyed. You cut around motifs in a way they get pieced back together looking just as nice as the original and when it’s seen back together you should never be able to tell it was altered.  Granted I haven’t seen your gown or lace. But I have been designing and sewing formal and bridal since middle school. Lol a long time. I have started my own atelier and my own collections.

If you had a photo I may be able to make a suggestion.  People like her give the made to measure a bad name.  NEVER go against your gut. Ever.

But from a standard gown experience I don’t see why it can’t all be fixed to your size. Where do you live?  Need to get you a good seamstress
