@hedwards0524:  I went to Tahiti on a cruise with what WAS Raddison Cruises. I am not sure what it is called now, I know they changed the name. It was a 10 day cruise and TOTALLY worth it… I don’t have a suggestion for hotels.. but it might help looking into the cruise.

We went to Moorea and Bora Bora for our honeymoon. We stopped over in Tahiti for half a day. It isn’t as pretty as the other islands. Were you only considering the island of Tahiti?

They aren’t exactly the same. Moorea was our first stop. We thought it was beautiful, but when we got to Bora Bora–it took our breath away.

Moorea is much more accessible than Bora Bora since each resort is on it’s own island in Bora Bora (except those on the main island). So it was harder to get around Bora Bora. Resorts had shuttles to the main island, but you couldn’t really just walk out of your hotel and walk around like you could on Moorea.

Based on what we spent for our 8 day trip, split between the 2 islands, 10k is definitely doable for hotel and flight. For Moorea I would recommend the Hilton. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

As pps have said, if you spit between Moorea and BB, you can do it for less than 10K.  Maybe try the Pearl resorts in both Moorea and Bora Bora or Le Moana Bora Bora, or Sofitel Bora Bora or if you’re really not picky, Hotel Mai Tai Bora Bora.  Try Pacific for Less or Tahiti Travel Mate, those were the best quotes I found.

$10K is definitely doable, however you need to take into account that you’ll need additinal money to spend there.  My husband and I stayed in Moorea for 7 nights, 3 nights in Bora Bora and 1 night in Tahiti.  Bora Bora is beautiful but we fell in love with Moorea.  It is less expensive and they have more activities to do.  We were able to get a package in Moorea that included breakfast, which saved us a lot of money.  On both islands we went to the supermarket and bought some snacks. We also brought our own alcohol to save money.  Here’s the information of the agency we used.  Alison was great. She is very knowledgeable and patient.  Prior to booking with her, we asked her for so many quotes with different hotels.  Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
