Happy to announce that I got engaged 12/23/13!
After many failed attempts for Fiance to propose due to cancellations from the photographer, me finding out about every thing as usual… I finally told Fiance “Forget it! I don’t need a big surprise proposal with a photographer and all that. I just want to be engaged”. So we picked a day to be “our day” where we would do all sorts of things that we love and he can propose when and where he sees fit.
So the day started off at 9:30 when he took me out to breakfast.
After breakfast he took my scarf and blind folded me and took me to a little park that I’ve been wanting to visit forever. Of course I didn’t know we were there until he walked me around blind folded for what felt like forever! We spent a while there just having fun and taking pictures. We were the only ones there so what was very nice.
After that we walked back to the car and I put the blindfold on myself this time…
Yikes… and of course this would be the time he actually takes me out to a place filled with people!
So we drive for ever and part of the way I could tell what road we were on just because I’m so used to driving them, and for the most part I knew what town we were in… which meant way too many possibilities so it didn’t help! I had a feeling we were going to the lake, especially when he had to stop and buy a parking pass.
He parks the car and we walk for a long time… apparently through a parking garage, across a street, through a lobby.. the whole time all I hear is people. I’m so embarassed because I know my tie looks crazy and I kept asking “Are there lots of people?? Are they staring at me?? Are we at the mall??”
I could hear there were lots of cross guards and lots of people. It was very cold outside so I could tell when we walked in to a building because I suddenly got very warm. Christmas music started playing and I heard a woman ask Fiance if he wanted a map.. I was so confused!!
Finally he tells me to take off my blind fold and we are standing on a bridge away from everyone else in the Gaylord Texan in the garden. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was afraid I wouldn’t be emotional because I knew about it coming, but that wasn’t the case. I cried my eyes out!! I obviously said yes… then I pulled out a ring for him! I knew he really wanted one so I wanted to surprise him.
The whole place was decorated for Christmas and was very beautiful.
