I dont take my rings off to wash my hands in public (in fact I normally give the diamond a little clean too), but I will when I put on lotion at my desk. But I take them off as soon as I get home. So no showering, cleaning, cooking, gardening, working out etc.

I wash my hands a lot at work and I don’t take it off there because I’m worried I’ll lose it. But I don’t wear it at all when I’m home. I would definitely take it off for lotion, sleeping, showering, dishes and cleaning.

Taking off rings to wash hands outside your home is the recipe for losing them. But no, I don’t take them off, although it’s suggested that you should to be able to fully clean your hand from bacteria and viruses.

When I’m home, all my jewelry comes off, except my wedding band, that is the one piece of jewelry that always stays on unless I clean it.    All my jewelry is securely stored.

I don’t take mine off to wash hands, in my mind that just isn’t practical. The chances of dropping them in the sink or leaving them in a public bathroom are way higher than anything that could happen by washing them.

I usually have them off when I’m cleaning only because I don’t like to wear them at home for comfort reasons, not because I have a fear of wearing them with cleaning products.

Also taking your ring off, washing your hands and then touching your ring again to put it back on sort of defeats the purpose of washing your hands in the first place since there will be bacteria all over your rings which you will just have exposed yourself to again.

I take my rings off usually (not always, but usually) when washing my hands. I just hate the feeling of the water under the ring on my finger. Hand sanitizer, I will more often apply without taking the rings off.

It comes off and stays off when I get home, though. Then I put it on again as I prepare to leave the house.

I never wear my ring at home and I do take it off when I wash my hands because I don’t want water spots on it.  I’m really careful not to forget it, though.  I clean the ring itself at home multiple times a week and dry it with canned air.

Depends on the cleaning. If I am lifting up heavy furniture then yes it needs to come off. I also remove for the gym. If I am doing dishes or regular cleaning no my ring does not come off. But that’s because I use gloves. I don’t remove during showers or sleeping either. I don’t even remove for cooking. But just like during cleaning I use gloves because I don’t want nasty stuff on it. I probably clean my set at least once a week too so no real cloudiness. An ultrasonic or steam bath gets it even cleaner but I usually use a super soft toothbrush and my biodegradable jewellery foam most of the time.

I never take mine off, I echo the PP that said my ring has germs too and I am always terrified of losing it or dropping it in the sink and it goes down the drain. I have a little toothbrush looking thing at home and at work and after I wash my hands I scrub my ring for a second. I put lotion around my ring.

When I say “never” i mean never, I wear it no matter what activity I am doing. I have been weight training for almost 30 years, I have always worn my ring (i was married before), I have just as much chance of slamming my hand in a door at work or the car than at the gym, so i can either never wear it, or just wear it. I actually wear some type of gloves no matter what I am doing, so disposable gloves when I clean, work out gloves at the gym, gardening gloves to work outside, I have issues, so I just always wear gloves for everything. LOL

lily2018 :  if the point is to get my hands clean I make a point to keep them on and wash them as well. Otherwhise I only take them off if I’m using really harsh chemicals or a cleaning agent with polishing beads.

I take it off for cleaning and showering but I keep it on for hand washing as a rule because I’m famous for forgetting to put my rings back on afterwards and have lots numerous rings that way. They were all costume jewelry so it’s not that bad but I learned my lesson.

i never wear mine in the shower. Actually, I rarely wear it when it’s just me and him in the house. I wear it if we have company and always when I’m out. I used to take off my ring when washing my hands at work but scared myself once when I almost forgot it by the sink. Now i just wash my hands with it on.

I’ve stated wearing an Enso stack until things die down. I just don’t feel comfortable washing, sanitizing and cleaning with my rose gold and sapphire ring.
