Okay, experienced charting bees – I need your help. I read that CM is one of the most important fertility signs, but I can’t figure it out. I’m on CD7 – just ended AF 2 days ago – and as soon as I marked my CM as watery, FF gave me a green light for fertility. I haven’t even started OPKs yet – I was going to on Day 10. I think the chances I’m fertile are less likely than I misinterpreted my CM (I hope so! DH won’t be home for another 5 or 6 days!).
I wouldn’t say it’s dry, per se, but definitely not creamy or EWCM.
Tips for checking CM? How can I tell if my CM is watery vs just typical wetness there?

LadyBear: It took me a few cycles to really figure it out, but if you keep checking, you’ll be able to tell the difference. For me, it was mostly the amount – while things are always slightly, uh, moist down below, when I’m having watery CM there will be enough to have some show up on my underwear and to give my vulva a more slippery feeling overall. It can be really confusing when you first start tracking it, but you’ll get the hang of it within a cycle or two!

LadyBear: It takes a while to figure it out honestly but you’ll know EWCM when you see it because it’s very distinctive. Everything else in between that and sticky confused me for the first 6+ months. I would only mark EWCM on my charts.

LadyBear: I rarely get watery CM – more often than not I progress from creamy right to EW – but like PPs said, you’re always going to feel a little moist down there (“dry” isn’t actually literally dry – just no observed CM). For me, when I have marked watery, it almost feels like I peed myself a little or something. I can feel it just walking around or sitting, not just when I’m checking, and my undies will be wet too.
No worries, it takes a little while to get the hang of the differences! I really think my whole first cycle I was like “Oh, THAT’S what that looks like!” (and even after that).

I did the same as mentioned earlier, I only marked EWCM to start. There is no mistaking that!!!! But I definitely confused wet with normal When I started charting.
