Got engaged around a month ago and recently been talking to my fiance about what we want to do. We are going to elope because we want to do something really intimate and just about me and him, this is also coming 100% out of our pocket and we don’t want to be spending a lot on a wedding in the UK, we want to put money on our home . We want to do somewhere really calm and relaxing. Can someone recommend the where you eloped or where you recommend to go , we want to get married and spend the rest of the month there!
Any ladies do anything similar to this? Any advice or help on eloping would be great , we are pretty clueless on this topic! Thanks Ladies

@MarthaMason: Congratulations on your engagement!!
We eloped to a different country and spent almost 2 weeks! Not a month though, but I wish we could have! There are so many things we did not get to see, but will save it for our 5th anniversary when we go back.
We went to the Canadian Rockies. We love mountains in fact my requirement was to get married looking at mountains. We hiked every day of our vacation including the day of the wedding. A month would have been great! Alas we did not want to use ALL our vacation time in one trip as we usually do lots of little trips througout the year.

@sienna76: Thank you so much !
Aw wow that sounds amazing!!!!! I’m very forthunate to have a lot of holiday time in the year so a month won’t be too bad. I’m not a mountain type of girl , more a beach person lol. That does sound wonderful though I’m really looking forward to planning something amazing! Thank yoyu again lovely xx

@MarthaMason: I’m a Canadian gal and was thrilled to see someone eloped in the Rockies! As for you, beach lover…there are so many amazing places to consider: Costa Rica (SO much to do there, especially if you like adventure, plus lots of beach time possible), Vietnam (STUNNING!!!), Thailand (Changhai is incredible, the Phi Phi islands are gorgeous but very touristy), the Mayan Riviera in Mexico is beautiful. Have you considered California? Loads to do! Fly into Vegas, get married, then road trip it to the west coast! Napa Valley, San Fran, oh goodness, I could go on and on!

@Toronto2014: The Canadian Rockies are pretty spectacular! It was hard to narrow down a plan with all the options.
@MarthaMason: How about a vacation house rental? You could rent a new one every week or one for the whole month! I often browse vacation homes and dream of fun locations.
