Hey! I am writing mine too.

Wondering- are you doing them all? I am making Darling Husband do 1/2 of them I dont understand why its he brides job to do them all, but I have never heard of a man writing them.

I mean WE got married, WE got the presents, not me. There for WE should write them.

Luckily, I didn’t get too many doubles or too much off registry (and liked most of the free gifts).  I was surprised by the lack of gift receipts though.  Even if it was something I wanted, what if it’s broken?  I was especially surprised when it was stuff I didn’t registry for.  I think some of DH’s extended family didn’t think we were registered because they tended to give the most random, off registry stuff (or no gifts and cards, although maybe something will come later).

Wow, that sucks. We did have a few things off registry that we ended up donating, but not that many! What about saving them to regift?

@lefeymw: I wrote all of ours. My husband works and I don’t, so it made sense for us, I have more extra time.

What I hated was people who gave us something off the registry with a note on it that said to let them know if we don’t like it so they could give us the receipt to exchange it. Because you know, that’s exactly what I’m going to do “Hey cousin Fred, thanks so much for that ____ can I have the receipt though? You’re right, I don’t like it that much!”

We also got a crockpot. Don’t get me wrong, I love me my slow cooker, but I already have one. This one was from DH’s cousins who have been to our house and had meatballs out of our crockpot at many parties. So sure, we need a second one, why not?! No gift receipt either. I gave it to some friends who just bought their first home. Just weird. Zero thought put into it.

No gift receipts bugs me if you’re going to go off registry too!!!

Do the wind chime gifters have porches full of a variety of wind chimes? It must be a noisy block.

Bizarre!

@thewheelsonthebus: Omg. *facepalmslap* Seriously. I mean I don’t expect everyone to remember every single little thing in my house, but people, look at the registry. Or at least give me a damn gift receipt!!!

@thewheelsonthebus: Do the windchimers have an odd sense of humour?  Maybe it was discussed and they are waiting for Thank You cards before giving you the real gift or at least gift receipts.  Or maybe they are the real gifts, but they did it to be funny.

You should display every last windchime and maybe people will get the hint and suddenly dig up gift reciepts :o).

Or what about things that are clearly supposed to come in pairs but you get just one and you have no idea where to get another even if you wanted to?! We got this sort of ceramic oil lamp thing that’s super pretty, but just one looks kind of odd. I’d love to get another one or even a few more to dot them around the yard, but I have no idea where it came from! It sort of looks like this but it’s blue and about 10″ across:
