I start by reminding myself that it is not really the most important day of my life.  I think the societal expectation that the wedding day is the most important day of a woman’s life not only belittles the many significant accomplishments a woman achieves all throughout her life, but places a competely unrealistic expectation of perfection on the wedding day.  I try to keep the perspective that there will be many important days in my life, and that no day should ever be so important that I can’t sleep, eat, or enjoy myself.  After I’m done giving myself that pep talk, I take a nice bubble bath, go for a motorcycle ride, or make time to see friends in a non-wedding-related setting.

MrsFarmer2B:  Exercise and hobbies and take frequent breaks in planning lol.. Good luck! Remember that you can’t please everyone and ultimately it is YOUR (and FH’s) DAY.

I agree with Horseradish. I also suggest scheduling everything out over the course of your engagement. This way, you’re not focused on everything at once and you’re confident that everything will get done in it’s proper time because it’s on the schedule.

Plan for projects (DIY, research, whatever) to take at least twice as long as you think that way you aren’t rushed (and because most things usually do take a lot longer than you’d think).

Also- scented candles.  Mmmmm.

MrsFarmer2B:  Ooohh I will look into that!  I’m currently (as in actually this second) rocking the “Black cherry” yankee candle scent, I’m a candle impulse-buyer they are so amazing! They really do change the mood of a room.  The euc./spearmint candle sounds awesome!

Eat healthy foods and exercise even when you’re busy with the wedding planning stuff.
