I’m way more scared of losing my ring than I am of getting it dirty.  I always leave mine on, except when I’m putting on lotion, and then I only take it off for a minute.

I’m with Dancy – I take my jewelry off right when I get home.  When I’m away from the house, I feel naked without it; but when I’m home, I like being jewelry-free.

I guess I’m in the minority – I take everything off when I get home – rings, watch, earrings, etc.  I’m just not comfortable having all of it on if I’m just in my house doing nothing.  So I put everything on right before I leave the house and off soon after I get home.  🙂

I take off my engagement ring when I do dishes, shower, cook, clean, and while sleeping….pretty much over half the time when I’m at home.  It’s because I take it off so much that I want a plain gold wedding band, so that I can ALWAYS have it on without worry!

I take mine off when I shower, do dishes, cook, clean, go to the pool or put on any kinds of lotions. Otherwise I wear it :]

I never took off my engagement ring.  But, now the jeweler has it as our wedding bands are being made.  I really feel strange without it.

I take them off at home because I’m accident prone and will hit it against everything.

i take mine off to sleep, then i get up and shower, get dressed and put it on. then as soon as i get in the door at home (if we arent having company) it goes right into its little box so i KNOW i wont lose it.

im big on routines so i know when i dont have it on. i have only forgotten it once, and it was because FH and i got into a small argument in the morning and i was flustered. i also had on two different shoes that day. LOL

I don’t wear them to bed because I’ve snagged myself, my husband, and my hair before. I also don’t wear them in the shower or when I’m cleaning. My husband only wears his when he is in public.

I take all my rings off as soon as I get home.  I find that I’m doing much more with my hands at home (cooking, cleaning, etc) that I find they get in the way and get dirty.  Plus I’m a bit of a klutz so I’m afraid of scratching it or hitting it against something (it has happened before!).  Even so, my e-ring’s in much better condition that some other girls’ rings who have gotten engaged after me!

I take mine off to shower, clean/outdoor yardwork, put lotion on, or wash my hands.  If I’m in a public bathroom I’ll hold my ring with my lips so I don’t set it down and forget about it!  (Did that once a couple years ago with my birthstone ring and someone was nice enuf to turn it into mngt!  THANK GOD!!!)

i voted “other” because, like you – i take it off when i’m bathing – cooking certain things, etc – but i also take it off every night before I go to bed.

my Maid/Matron of Honor NEVER as in absolutely NEVER takes hers off – and thinks it’s “weird” that i do! lol.
