Look like YOURSELF!! Like a cleaned up prettied  version of yourself. I overthought my outfits and hair so an insane degree… the outfits turned out ok, but my hair I ended up not liking cuz it didn’t look like “me”. I put in clip in extensions last minute to give it more fullness and volume… I dunno. That was my regret. That, and if you know you can’t pull off certain poses (like I can never do a sultry/serious face without looking deeply depressed in the picture–haha) then DON’T waste time on them. I know what angles I look good in, what “faces” I look good in. I’m sure you do too.

Oh, and HAVE FUN! 🙂

Honestly, have fun. I was not completely happy with my hair/the way I looked and was nervous about a photoshoot. Our photographer was great and put us at ease and I spent the time just being goofy with my FI. The pictures when we were just being us and focused on us came out great. Just think about your fiance, act like you normally do (with some posing), and they will turn out great!

I would say that being relaxed is key! I was so nervous about the session. Our photographer did a great job making me feel much more comfortable about him being there. I haven’t gotten pictures back yet, but i’m hoping that I don’t look like a deer in the headlights. LOL.

Just relax…and don’t be afraid to look directly into the camera. For some reason I was looking off into the distance in alot of photos.

I agree that your pictures will look best if you’re having fun with it!  On the advice of our photographer, we wore bright/bold colors (as opposed to whites, greys, and other washed out colors), and that turned out to be a terrific suggestion.  I also wore more makeup than usual, which I thought would look overdone, but in fact it looked just right on film.  So don’t be afraid to wear more eye makeup and foundation than usual — it won’t look as heavy in the photos as it does in person.  Enjoy!
