Anyone else consider putting on your wedding clothes and taking more pics, at different places? I kinda want to do this, to get as much use out of my gown as possible. Is this silly? I have a tiny dream of having a wedding portrait taken at the Eiffel Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, and other pretty places.

I am thinking of taking mine on the honeymoon and having my Fiance (I guess Husband, weird) take some photos of me with the beautiful carribean water behind me. I’m doing a winter wedding in the Northeast so no beautiful outside pics unless it snows! I figure why not, I have it and he’s an awesome photographer, I’d love to see what he comes up with. I say do it!

I am thinking of having a Day After session, because I don’t really want to do first look.

Almost every phtographer in town suggest taking your pictures on a different day, most of the time they want to do it prior to the wedding so you already have your pics on the wedding day, I think it’s a nice idea, I wouldn’t want to dress as a bride prior to the wedding but that’s just my personal choice.
If you have the chance to get pretty pictures in different locations what’s the harm, it’d be so cool.

I think traveling all over with your dress seems strange?

It’s becoming really popular. Many of my clients do a Day After session. It’s really smart, because it gives you the chance for additional photos in a different location, and you’re also much more relaxed and not in a rush to get to a reception. I’d highly suggest it.

I want to do this and I haven’t seen anyone else doing it! I want pictures of us in different areas of the city. The first meeting area, first date area, our favorite place area etc… We’ll see!

I don’t think it’s weird at all. You paid for that sucker, wear it until you get your money’s worth!

I’m glad that others have had the same thought. 🙂 I’m always a fan of charming pictures in interesting places. I love seeing Bees’s pics of them in their wedding dress and walking down the street, stopping by a cafe, at a beautiful building, etc. I may be sort of nutty to want to travel to different places to do this (Paris, Rome, etc) but it just sounds so fun.
Our first look was at a very modern hotel, not quite the romantic type of space I preferred, but perhaps I’ll look into having pics taken at someplace gorgeous and romantic. We got married in Miami, so taking pics in different parts of the city would be fun.

I would love to do this! Our snag is that he is wearing a kilt and the suit part of it is a rental. So we would have to rent it again for the shoot.

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
We did a day after session. I wore my dress, but styled it very differently. Mr. LK just wore his suit and dress overcoat rather than renting a tux. We had a great time and I love the photos. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/day-after-photo-shoot-pic-heavy

You can get beautiful winter wedding photos, just sayin’. 😀 Its not that beach backdrop but it can still be just as pretty!
Go for it OP, you will have a blast!
