It depends on the person. I have one friend I was on the phone with for 2 hours today. We’ve always talked on the phone and the conversations generally last a long time. I have other friends I never speak to over the phone and we only text to check in or make arrangements to meet. So for me it’s person specific regarding how we communicate.

Depends on the person. Immediate family I speak to on the phone, others text/email. I’m not in the habit of phoning friends but am not opposed to it.

It depends on the person for me too.

I live abroad and there are some of my friends back home who I have hour-plus long Skype dates once a fortnight or once a month; there are other friends who I am in touch with multiple times a week by messenger chat. I normally Skype my parents once every 10 days and email once or twice in between.

For local friends where I live now, it’s much more a culture of phonecalls so that’s what I do.

Growing up I never really liked having to make phonecalls or answer the phone, but I’ve grown out of that for the most part.

I dislike the phone, but am perfectly capable of using it. I think it depends on the person. If I have a good line of communication with a person in written format, I would prefer to text. If the written word tends to be dry and not very effective at having a chat with that person, I would prefer to call.

I prefer talking on the phone when having a conversation. When its just a statement like I’m running late, or I’m on way then I will text

The only time I talk on the phone is if I’m making an appointment or something like that. I hate talking on the phone.

depends on the person, i can easily talk to my parents/sister or husband on the phone for how ever long. But to be honest anyone else i prefer text unless its something super important/urgent, im not big on mindless chatter, id rather receive that through text.

I hate talking on the phone. I only talk on the phone with my mom and bf. Everyone else I wish they would just text. I choose services based on if I can book it online.
