MeaganLeigh2011:  I’m 5’10” and wore flats. With a long dress there was no reason to wear heels. That was cemented when I bought my dress off the rack and it was just the perfect length when wearing flats.

Don’t have a pic, but they were cute: hot pink patent sling backs with a bow on the front.  I picked them up at Winners (I believe the US equivellent store is called Marshalls) a few weeks before the wedding on a whim for only $35.  They replaced the sandals I had already purchased (on sale for $50) which were also nice but I prefered something more colourful with my dress.  I happen to be wearing the other sandals today!  I actualy get a ton of wear out of them!  Both pairs are comfortable and re-wearable, which was a priority for me.

With everything that’s out there these days, there is really no reason to spend a mint on shoes (unless that’s what you want to do).

5’11” here.  Wearing heels because I can and my fiance is 6’8″ so I am threatening to bring a box to stand on for pictures.  They’re basic white 3.5″ slightly chunky heels. I’m gluing pink flat pearls and 2x AB clear crystals in little flowers that are the same pattern as my daughter’s dress at her neckline and sash.

I’m 5’11” and my partner is a slouchy 5’10-11, and while I love me in heels (and he loves me even more in heels) I don’t want to tower over him 🙂

I’m 5’11” (and a half!) and my Fiance is just about the same height. I was originally going to wear little heels because I’m cool with being taller than Fiance, and I feel like guy dress shoes always have a little lift, but I went with flat sandals because of the length of my dress. There are my shoes! 🙂 And I love that I will wear them TONS after the wedding!

I’m 6’1 and so is Fiance. So I’m wearing these flats.

I knew I wanted to be comfortable and wear flats on my big day so I’ll be wearing these with navy blue ribbon. I am a good 2 inches taller than my hubby but that has nothing to do with my decision. My dress would allow me to wear heels as well. Hubby actually encourages me to wear heels.

Unless you are wearing a short dress or a high lo dress or something like that, chances are that guests are NEVER going to see your shoes.  They might make a cute picture (but seriously down the road what are you going to do with a picture or your wedding shoes), but the only time a guests might get a glimpse at them is when you walk up or down stairs.  Wear what you feel comfortable in.  Make sure you are comfortable standing for extended periods of time (like in the ceremony), and walking around, and that you comfortable with your height next to your fiance in the picture (and so is he).  I choose to wear a low heel (like 1 inch) because I think flats can be uncomfortable to stand still in one place in for the ceremony.  I’m only 5’8″, and my fiance is 6’1″, so I’d have to be REALLY jacked up to look taller than him.
