i’m 6’ft.  Almost all the dresses I tried on in 3 places were just perfect when I was barefoot.  Clearly, that wasn’t working.  Each place told me that I was going to have to order extra length.

I went with a tea length gown…. just avoid the whole thing. 🙂

I’m 5’10”, wearing 2 3/4″ heels and my Pronovias dress still needs to be hemmed!

There was another post about this a couple weeks ago as well. If you’re interested, you can find it here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/taller-brides

I’m 6ft and ordered a dress with pickups, no extra length.

If its too short, I’m going to have them take the top pickup out.

I’m only 5’8″, but my normal length Maggie Sottero Grace dress (it’s a single piece of lace that can’t be hemmed) is 4.5″ too long on me.

Anyone else who is 5’9 or 5’10  have any experience with a Justin Alexander lace dress? I ordered mine in regular length ( it was 300 for extra length :(..)  i would decide how high of a heel I can wear with it once my dress comes in and I try it on.   The store sample was a size smaller so was a little short.. just touching the floor, going by the sample I would have to wear flats. But Im hoping that with the dress in my correct size, I can at least wear a kitten heel.

@mame:The dress I have on is Justin Alexander 9552. I have on a crinoline AND 4″ heels. If I get this dress, it will need to be hemmed. lol, there is no way I’m wearing 4″ heels

I am 5’9 and trying on dresses barefoot was fine, but i knew i was going to wear a 4 inch heer, so i had to order mine with extra length. My dress is an Alfred Angelo.

barely shy of 5’11”. That dress blew me away at how long it was! I don’t know if all Justin’s dresses are that way… This is the one one I’ve tried on…

i’m 5’11” and FH is 6’5″. I just bought a sample dress and plan to wear no more than 1″ heels. I plan to get my dance on so flats are better anyways!

Haha, can I just say as a 5’0 lady you all make me nervous saying your gowns fit you perfectly, some even with heels?!

Hollow to hem for me :p

I’m 5’10”, but I hate heels.  I wore flats, and didn’t need extra length.

Yes, my dress was too short for me to wear heels :/ and I am 5″10-11.
