So I’m not THAT tall, but I do have freakishly long legs and a short torso. I’m 5’7″ and was really freaked out about finding a dress that fit right. I did end up having to add length, but am really glad the short torso worked out for me. My legs are also my favorite part about my body, so I’m happily sportin’ a trumpet silhouette that rocks my long, sexy legs!

I don’t have a Maggie story, but I did find a perfect length gown at Davids!  I bought a discontinued Davids that I loved off of e-bay for cheap, hoping that it would be just long enough with flats.  Not so much.  So I went into the store hoping that they would have one dress that was long enough for me that I loved.  Lo and behold, they had a perfect chiffon dress that was the exact right length for me with flats!  The lining is a tiny bit short, but the chiffon goes an inch longer, so it is just right.  I am super happy about it.

Well i’m right at 5’11” and my maggie came RIGHT to the floor, no extra length or any of that! I wore flats, naturally.

But yes. Perfect. I didn’t even need alterations!

I’m 5’11 and was so excited to hear the dress I bought, Pronovias Galante, will probably not have to be altered in length once it arrives. I am also long torso’d and will rock this dress on my wedding day! ๐Ÿ™‚

By The Way I also tried on Maggie dresses that I LOVED and almost bought one if this one hadn’t called out to me.

I’m (almost) 5’11” and my Sottero and Midgely fits with 2.5″ heels too!  Woot!  I’m SO happy about it because I had the same fears as you!

I’m 5’10” and I got a la sposa by pronovias…I wore maybe 1 3/4 inch ballet “flats” and it was PERFECT.  I didn’t even have to have any alterations except the bustle and the straps.

I had wonderful luck trying on runway samples — all of them were absolutely the perfect length! Only trouble is that there aren’t that many runway samples hanging around ๐Ÿ™‚ But it was soooo nice to try on all these amazing dresses and know they were built just for someone my size — which NEVER happens!

I bought my dress at Monique Lhuillier and never altered the length at 6’1 w/36″ inseem. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was also super excited with my Maggie (Greta) – I am 5′ 9” and am actually able to wear about 2” heels with it (something I never thought would happen without ordering extra lenght).

Ahhh, I love hearing my fellow tall girls had just as great as an experience as I had.  I also was dreading that first dress shopping experience.  I am 6’2” and a size 10-12… so, by no means a small girl,  but in decent shape.  I couldn’t believe when I tried on the first dress (Enzoani, i think) and the bottom of the dress was resting on the floor… I ended trying on about 9 or 10 dresses, and decided on the Justin Alexander 8610 (super puffy tulle ballgown) the length was absolutely perfect and the bodice of the dress was cut to the right proportions for a taller frame (had to take the hips in a bit… but still almost perfect)  I am planning on wearing flats (FI is 6’8” but I dont want to look taller than I already am) but if i wanted to, I could get away with wearing a kitten heel with the dress.

I also ended up with a Maggie Sottero design – Tracey.

It def helps with my long legs and long arms. I am in the same boat with having a hard time finding clothes but the wedding dress was simple!! ๐Ÿ™‚
