this is my personal opinion, but seriously everyone else is different, i mean, look at katie holmes and tom cruise. she towers over that man. personally, i don’t like being taller than my fiance. i think it makes him look really small and i’m sure he doesn’t appreciate looking diminutive especially not on our wedding day. i’m trying to find a pair of flats too. i figure that at some point i’ll find something that i like and be happy with them. i know what you mean, i think most of the designers hate women who like or need flats. they tend to be pretty frumpy.

I’m an inch taller than Fiance and I got my flats from david’s bridal.  They are dyeable so you can match it with your color scheme, if you wanna go the colored shoes route 🙂

    Personally? I like being shorter

However, I agree with @iggies…some people can rock being taller with confidence 🙂 go for it if you want to wear the heels!

My fiance is around 5’4″, and I’m 5’5″. Even though that’s only an inch, when a guy is that short it really shows. The only time it matters to either of us, though, is for the pictures. I’m wearing 2.5″ heels for the wedding and reception. During the reception he’s going to wear shoes with some lift, but he’ll wear regular shoes he can dance in for the reception.

Every other day of our life, neither one of us cares at all! In fact, he likes when I wear heels because he thinks I look good in them!

I voted for “get the shoes you want.” Whether you are comfortable being taller than your husband is entirely up to you. If you feel comfortable wearing heels around him the rest of the time, why should your wedding day be any different? My sister in law is an inch or two taller than her husband and she wore moderate heels at the wedding and was taller. It was seriously not a big deal. Lots of people have hang-ups about the man being taller, but that doesn’t mean that you have to.

Whether in flats or heels, your job is to feel the most beautiful you can standing next to your man on your wedding day. Do whatever will achieve that and throw away those stereotypes!

I am about 3 inches taller than Fiance. I’m with you that I love to rock heels when we go out, but for the wedding……….

I figure that this is the vainest day of my whole life. As mush as I love heels, I would rather not be 6 inches taller on this day. (and I am making Fiance wear lift shoes, don’t hate on me…)

I think you should wear whatever shoes you want. My SIL is a lot taller than my brother and they look great together! Their pictures are super cute and it wasn’t a big deal that she was a lot taller than him in them. If you want to wear heels, go for it!

@Silveramos:  I’m glad you like the david bridal ones.  I got mine for $24.99 (plus $3 dye job).  Good luck to you! 🙂
