My Maid/Matron of Honor keeps bugging me about what I want to do for my bachelorette party, and I’ve already told my bridesmaids what I’d like to do, but I’m wondering if my Maid/Matron of Honor will want us to do something else in addition or what. I want to go cosmic bowling. There’s a place in town that does cosmic bowling from 11 pm to 2 am on Saturday nights, and frankly, it sounds like my idea of a good time! I don’t really drink much, since one drink usually does me in, and I’m definitely not into strippers. I just want to hang out with a few of my closest girls (maybe just my bridesmaids? 3 girls?), bowl, and chat. Is this too boring? What other ideas do you have? I definetely want to keep it tame! Thanks!

I feel you! I actually just requested a sleepover. We are going to a local winery and drinking, talking, playing games, etc. Strippers do nothing for me and I can bar hop any day!

We went and made jewelry (something weve done together many times and love it) and then mani’s and went to a good restaurant and shopped on the byward market. Later on we did all meet guys and girls for cosmic bowling which included poutine and a few beers.

I LOVE cosmic bowling! That sounds awesome to me.
For mine, we all went out to Jack Astor’s for food and (lots of) drinks while the guys played paintball. Then we all met back at our house for a co-ed party. There were jello shooters and penis straws. We had a blast (sans strippers)!

@ninjachc: have a light lunch and a day at the spa
or dinner and a comedy club

We’re doing a full spa day. It’s like the disneyland of spas haha. It has over 20 pools, different mineral baths, hot springs, mud baths, etc. We rented a private cabana where we can lounge all day sipping drinks, congierge taking us to our treatments, and each a light lunch on the terrace. Dinner and drinks back at the hostess’s house after. Way tame, I know..but it sounds so relaxing to me…I can’t wait!

Have an old school sleepover, bake cookies, play silly board games like girl talk and mall madness (am I the only one who still plays this game? ha ha)
Bowling sounds really fun. Maybe you can go to a wine bar or out to dessert before or after.

@ivysupersonic: I’m not having a bachelorette party, but if I did, this is exactly what I’d want to do. Mix in some wine and I’d be in heaven.
Also, not to be creepy, but are you referring to Glen Ivy in SoCal? Because that place is freakin’ amazing!

My cousin had us all over to her bridesmaid’s house (her sister) her house was decorated with all the cheesy “bachelorette” stuff. We had finger foods and snacks (and a chocolate fountain!) Then went out to a nice place to eat. After that we went dancing, but to a nicer place not a “club” type place. Then it was back to her sisters house for gifts and penis cake!
It was really nice and fun to be able to visit with all our girl cousins and friends 🙂

How about a group cooking class? Group art class?

Originally I didn’t even want a bachelorette party. I’m not a big party person, and one of the essential people I’d want there (my BFF, aka my MoH) lives in another country and would probably not be able to come. Fiance didn’t like when I said I didn’t want one (I think he’d feel bad for having a bachelor party without me having a bachelorette party), so I’ve settled on a spa day in the lead up to the wedding. I’ve always wanted to go to a spa as I’ve never been, and I’m sure I’ll appreciate it with 2 weeks to go. It’ll only be a very few of the vey closest girls who are invited, adding up to 5, me included. So spa, a nice lunch or dinner, and maybe a couple of cocktails, and that would be it, and I like the sound of that.
And if it counts, I’ll have what my original plan was to call my bachelorette party – a sleepover the night before the wedding with my BFF watching movies and chatting 🙂

@naturalysam: That sounds SO fun! I actually make jewelry all the time, but my not all my maids are as crafty. Maybe I could do that with my one friend some day! I will google places nearby! 🙂

@Kapilox: I don’t blame you. I don’t really want to call it a “bachelorette party”, but whatever. Spa day should be awesome though! Sooo relaxing! Enjoy it!
