I honestly think it depends on “how you’re shaped.” 😉 Tampax Pearl work wonderfully for me, but the regular Tampax tampons ALWAYS leak. If you notice the tampons are shaped quite differently. I’ve always assumed that was why some worked for me and some didn’t, but who knows? 🙂

@happyface:  Tampons are actually safe to wear up to 8 hours :o)

I like U by Kotex tampons, in the black box, with the colorful wrappers. I find they work best.

I always change mine more often than every 3 hours, so I’ve never had a problem with them. I really do prefer the cardboard applicator tampons, though, the sharp plastic teeth kind of creep me out lol

I like the Tampax Pearl tampons, but I also cannot tolerate the cardboard tampons, it just feels like nails on a chalkboard to me!

I’m with everyone else on the Playtex Gentle Glide bandwagon. I accidentally purchased the Pearls and while I hate to see them just sit there, I just can’t imagine using them for purposes other than emergencies.

Also, I have several friends who SWEAR by Diva Cups. I haven’t built up enough courage to try them, but I’ve never heard anything but good reviews.

Wow Tampax pearl and the Kotex U tampons are the only ones I buy. I especially love the fact that they come in the compact versions.  Before these came out I would only use the playtex gentle glides though.

I have never had a problem with them, but I don’t wear them for long periods of time so maybe that’s why.

I, too, like the Playtex Gentle Glide!  I’ve used them for years and never had issues.

@happyface:   agree with you, I never wear mine for more than 4-5 hours max at heavy flow times.  I use Tampax Pearl faithfully, I love them.  Theya re by far the best I have used.  I use the green supers most, I usually go through 3-4 on my heaviest flow days and they have the super plus ones that are fantastic for really heavy flow days.  I still change them every 4 hours, but they can last me up to 6 hours super heavy flow IF i need it (overnight).  I’ve never had a leakage problem unless it’s becasue I haven’t changed it early enough.  It’s recommended not to wear them for more than 4-6 hours to reduce risk of toxic shock.

That’s so weird! I’ve actually experienced way less leaking and general uncomfortableness with the Tampax Pearl. And I only ever need the regulars, even though I have a pretty heavy flow. I change them a little more often during my heavy days, but the supers have always been uncomfortable to me.
