These little things pop up every now and then, and I was wondering what the Hive thought about this. Is this little girl hilarious and adorable, or ruining the performance for the other girls? I know if I did this, my mama would have been pretty mad…

It’s obviously distracting to the other kid, but these are just little girls… if this were an older group of children it would be much less adorable.

That’s pretty typical out if that age group to have a few that get over excited about things like that, perfectly normal for the nervous energy to manifest like that.

If you voted disrespectful, I have one question – have you ever been in dancing school as a very small child? It’s confusing, overwhelming, and never goes perfectly. Some little kids are off in the wings or standing right on stage crying for their mothers. Some little kids just plop on their butts and refuse to do the routine. Some kids are perfect little angels and watch the teacher and follow along. Some kids spaz out and do their own thing. She’s so little and so excited and just dancing her heart out. If you watch her carefully, she actually IS doing the routine for the most part, just in her own over-zealous way. And singing along as she goes. I think it’s hilarious.

Seriously, lol she is 4 years old! I taught dance while in high school and part of college there was at least one if not more in EVERY class like her, there were also the kids that would cry and or refuse to come out at the recital. It’s not like she was taking off her clothes and running around crazy or pushing the other girls.
My favorite dance teacher memory was when my small class of about 10 little 3-4 year olds just decided it was the coolest thing to be on a stage and start dancing around in a circle together completely ignoring the original steps and the fact that they were putting on a show. That’s part of the fun of little ones in dance!

I think its stupid to put little girls in dance classes like that to begin with- so I enjoyed the performance. Dancing to her own beat.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: My opinion is that she was not being disrespectful of the other girls, but I also don’t think she knows how to follow directions yet. Yes, it was cute, but clearly she has not developed enough yet to follow directions and do the performance.

Call me crazy but I can’t even tell which girl is not doing what they’re supposed to. Both little girls look like they’re completely wrong.
