I haven’t been to a wedding with tapas, but if I were your guest, I would probably be super excited about them! Are they going to “go” with the overall theme of your wedding?

I love the idea of a tapas reception! Will it be served family style?

Oooh, I would LOVE to go to a wedding with tapas for dinner!  It would be such an awesome way to try a variety of foods and really get your guests to interact.  I didn’t do it for my wedding and have never been to a wedding with tapas but I think it sounds like an amazing idea!

@Bubalou: you could serve it like traditional tapas (in spain we spent hours around the table.. eating tapas.. talking.. drinking sangria.. it was awesome..) which is family style and people could pass around the table.. or is you have long tables.. you could send 2 of the ssame per side… so there is no passing across the table. Or you could serve it french style.. where the waiter carries it around and offers it to people, people who want it, take it. OR you could do a buffet of them! You have a couple options.

@Bubalou: Yeah your wedding sounds awesome!  I think family style will work just fine. Both of my cousin’s weddings had dinner served family style, and it wasn’t too much stuff on the table with the centerpieces. People are happy to make room for good food! Maybe just stagger it so a few plates are on each table at one time, then they get taken away and replaced with a few more.

Im doing this! At a spanish restaurant.  Some people wont be a fan with the concept of tapas, because they are not accustomed to it especially at a wedding.  But if your like me you wont give a hoot.  People shun different becayse its not “traditonal” or “typical”.  People will  be hungry so they will eat.  I’m sure it will work and Im sure it will be yummy.

I would keep the centerpieces low.
