I don’t have helpful photos, but I had tape-in extensions for a few months and really couldn’t stand them. Here was my main problem – I work out everyday and need to wear my hair up. But the tape part of the extensions showed every time I tried putting my hair up in a high ponytail or top knot. So I ended up having to wear my hair in low ponytails – which I find very uncomfortable. I simply could not hide the tape when I had my hair up (which was just about every day). If that wouldn’t bother you, then go for the tape-in’s. I now use a crown or clip-in’s for special occassions.

I had tape in extensions for about over a year and I love them. They just take two pieces of hair and sandwich the “tape” part together. They looked super natural and whenever I told someone I had extensions they said they had no idea! You just have to get the perfect color match. I used a brand called bombay and even after a year they’re still super soft and nice. I 100% recommend them! I never had a problem with them falling out either only one or two would come out in a months time and that was only a couple times in a year. It only takes a second to put them back in anyway. Worth it!

I’ve had every kind.  The links (which were by far my favorite), the clip ins (which are my second favorite because of the time. I would leave mine curled…and then curl my hair and clip them in when I was headed out.  Then wash every couple weeks).  I currently have the tape (second time having them) and they are my least favorite.  I second what

However–I told my hair dresser this was why I hated them the first time…and so she cut the tape in half and used smaller pieces around my face and at a different angle so it was easier to put up into a higher pony/bun.  The links still have my vote though.

That being said…I have tape currently and got them for my wedding a couple weeks ago because I didn’t want to have to deal with clip ins during the wedding and pre/post wedding festivities.  I have super thick hair and they blend nicely.

I have been wearing extensions for about a year now and have no problem hidding them until they start growing out (about 8 weeks) then I found I had to tuck them back in once in a while.  Curling my hair was easier to hide them at that point.

I usually get them moved up every 10 weeks and have found the the quality of hair matters.  I paid about 380 plus instalation for my hair the first time around and I am still using the same hair.  I have friends that have to get new hair every 8 months or so.

ETA : placement is really important.  I told my hairdresser that I play a lot of sports and weart my hair up frequently so she put them farther away from my hairline

I like the look of the tape in better. I haven’t tried them yet. But I hated how the fusion ones made my hair look stringy and it just did not look good to me. But my natural hair is also very fine. I have been dying to try the tape ins.

I don’t have a pic at the moment but I’ve had tape-ins for 3 years and they’re awesome! They can be a lot of work though, you have to take a very long time to dry them because of the glue on the tape. And you need to be semi-gentle with the hair iteself, with brushing mostly cus you don’t want to tug on the glue too much or break the ends. But as long as you buy nice enough hair, it should look natural and no one will know the difference. No one ever does with me 🙂

ChellFish22:  I never struggled to hide the tape-ins when I wore my hair down. Nor did the tape-in’s damage my hair. So it seems like they’d be great for you!
