The centerstone is held up high enough so that my wedding band sits flush.

My ring is also like that, and the stone is set up high enough that there is no gap. (The tiny gap in this picture is just because the wedding band is 3 sizes too big for me so I’m trying to hold it flush to my e-ring with my other fingers. When it’s sized to fit me though there will be no gap at all.)

Here’s a tapered engagement ring with a fitted contour band. Bands like this aren’t impossible to find, but all the same you may have to go the custom route to make sure you get something that fits snugly against yours.

I have a ring so so similar to that but its a blue topaz! I just wear it as a right hand ring but it is beautiful! I actually have a tapered engagement ring to and I just wear a straight band with it and you really can’t see much of a gap because of the way the diamon sits. However in my RHR I cant wear a band with it (I tried) because the stone sits to low and it makes a very awkward gap…. So I think it just depends on where the stone sits…. you could try a contour ring with it.
