I’ve been stalking these boards for months… FINALLY close enough to engagement that I don’t feel like a total dork posting! 🙂
I’ve been doing a lot of ring research, and I’ve narrowed down what I want pretty well. I know I’m ordering from MoissaniteCo, I know I want a solitaire, and I know I want a plain wedding band to eventually go with the e-ring. There is a particular solitaire I like, that tapers just a little – and a customer service rep said it wouldn’t sit perfectly flush with the plain band, but it would come really close.
Anyone have a tapered e-ring against a plain band? Pics maybe? I don’t think a tiny space would bother me unless it were really noticeable… thoughts on this?

I have a very slightly tapered engagement ring (solitaire) that has a plain band. I actually like the taper because I feel that it looks more delicate and draws attention to the center stone. 🙂
My wedding ring is a diamond eternity ring (not a plain band), but hopefully you can still get a good idea. It sits up VERY close (not completely flush – tiny space) but personally it doesn’t bother me one bit. And really, it’s only noticeable if you look up REALLY close (like, SUPER close); otherwise you can’t tell at all.
Please pardon the photo quality of these pics, but here are a few for you.

Oops! Sorry – here they are. 🙂

I know a lot of people who don’t like the “gap” (which is usually pretty minimal) use a spacer band between their rings or soder them together too! Might be something to search on the bee.

My e-ring tapers from 2.5 mm to 2 mm at the stone. I am planning to get a plain band to wear with it and the gap is *very* minimal.
Here is my e-ring:
I don’t have my w-band yet, but here are some pics of similar sets I had on my computer so you can see the (tiny) gap:

Thanks ladies!! Pictures really help, thanks so much for sharing. I do like the tapered look, and from the pictures here the spacing isn’t anything I’d worry about… GOOD! yay 🙂

Mine tapers very, very slightly. There is a gap, as you can see, but I love it 🙂 Mine’s from MoissaniteCo too, they’re awesome!

@rkizzle: Which setting are you thinking of getting? I’ve been eyeing up this one, drooly drool.
