I wondered if anyone had a tapered type eternity/wedding band? I am trying to order a ring through Starsgem and this is the CAD. It looks to be thicker at the top and thinner down the bottom – is that normal for a wedding band? It looks like it might match the dimensions of my engagement ring (tapered a bit like that) but I’ve never seen one like it. Help??? Suggestions? Advice?

My anniversary band is tapered like this. I wear it on my right hand because it sits higher than my wedding set.

Mine is like that. Maybe for stability?

So is mine. I’m guessing fo the extra needed to go around the stones?

I ordered a ring not knowing it was tapered like that (website didn’t say). I sent it back because it spun merrily around (top heavy) and annoyed the heck out of me. (My band spins around now, too, but it’s a full eternity so it doesn’t matter)

That looks normal. I wouldn’t call it tapered though.

If you are concerned about a ring being top heavy and spinning, consider a Euro shank 🙂

Both my ering and my band are tapered like that, it makes them stronger, like a knife edge.
BUT you probably want to be sure they are the same height, they should be able to give you the mm depth at the top

pixiepie1987 : I am sure they are either matching your e-ring if this is something that they made, or they are just doing this for comfort. I have a 5 stone that is tapered and I like the look on that but I have several eternity bands that are not. It really depends on what you think you want. Most people like thin bands so they might just be designing it that way because of trends
If your Engagement Ring is tapered, you might want to match it but it is really up to you.
