This may or may not help, BUT, I did order a Target Bridesmaid or Best Man dress for myself to wear to a wedding as a guest.  I was surprised at how ‘flimsy’ it felt when I received it. It also looked a little cheap (not that I am saying they all do, etc).  It was a chiffon dress, and I ended up returning it 🙁

I guess the good news is that IF you went this route, and ended up not liking it, it is super easy to go to your local store and return it!

I am also getting married October 2013! 🙂 I am planning on probably going with Dillard’s dresses rather than the stuffy, never-wear-again, traditional bridesmaids dresses. The way I see it, even if it costs as much as a traditional bridesmaid dress, it will probably look better, be easier for the girl to get something that fits her without alterations, and maybe she can wear it again. And it can look fantastic with some nice heels and jewelery!

I don’t know if I would pick something out and order it right now though. You’re still a year out, and you may change your mind or your bridesmaids may not fit into the same dress a year from now. I think if you have a color in mind that you want your bridesmaids to wear, you can generally find any color any time of the year. You don’t have to stick solely to Target. Keep your color and budget in mind and do some searching around the internet closer to your wedding date.

I ordered the one below for my bridesmaid.  It was a cute dress – but definitely not made for a figured woman.  She was spilling out of the strapless side if you know what I mean.  I decided not to try any other styles… but for $50 – its worth a shot!

EDIT:  Target happily accepted my return at the store and I received full credit.
