I have heard this many times before so Fiance and I decided against creating one there. But today I got an offer where if I add 10 items to a target registry and then print it off and show it to them, I will get a $25 giftcard. Well, in the process of adding 10 random items (bc I am not really using the registry). my items kept gettting deleted! I was about to scream! It took me 45 minutes to add 10 things to a registry bc items would disappear once I added them to the registry. ARGH. I just had to vent. 🙂

Yeah, Fiance and I registered at Target because there’s really not many options in our town… and yes the registry is terrible! I feel your pain.
Although, our Kohl’s registry has proven itself to be equally annoying.

Random Target registry story: BF and I are friends with a couple who registered at Target, and we bought a few things from their registry for their wedding. In their shipment, along with the items BF and I ordered, was a Schick razor. The very confused bride contacted me asking if it was something I meant to buy for myself but mistakenly sent to them, but I hadn’t ordered it, and it definitely wasn’t from their registry. That was kind of a LOL/WTF moment…

But it was worth the $25.00 right!? Yeah I’ve heard such bad things about the Target registry. I don’t love that BB&B doesn’t have the registry tracker like Crate & Barrel, but it’s so much easier to use.

I didn’t have a problem at Target. Our scanner died at the very end, but the customer service department was happy to scan our last items in. Maybe you had a bad scanner?

We cancelled ours and went with Bed Bath & Beyond and Amazon because of how long it took to load pages on the target site. Ridiculous. Nice job on the gift card though. 🙂

We got the same gift card offer – and created a registry with games and camping gear on it! But half our registry is now “not available”. Oh well.

We’ve had some problems with Target. We decided to go with them because of their variety (not necessarily with plates and things, but because we could add entertainment items, household items, etc.). I love shopping at Target. It is one of my favorite stores.
That being said, I haven’t been the happiest with their registry.
We’ve had a lot of things disappear off the registry. Then, when we’d try to re-add them, they wouldn’t show for awhile. Then, they would appear, but there would be 5 of them. When people would check out and give the cashier the registry, the item wouldn’t be taken off, leaving us to make quite a few returns.
They’ve been okay. My favorite so far has been BB&B.

We only registered at Target, not many options here, and I didn’t want all the the on my registry to be high dollar like I felt BB&B and Crate & Barrel would. I didn’t have any problems with them or my registry. Sorry

I can’t update/stalk my Target registry online at all because it JUST.WON’T.LOAD. Ever. But we got a $20 gift card for registering and the registry prints out just fine at the store, so I can’t complain too much.

I didn’t register at Target as my experience with their registry (and their online site in general) has been less than stellar. When I ordered some items from their online store (it was one of those pop-up designer shops), they took forever to arrive and all in separate packages and shipping methods. I ended up just buying all of it in-store and returning the online purchases as they came in. All in all, it took about a month for all six items to finally show up on my doorstep. To be fair, all of it was packaged well. In addition, their return policy is terrible IMO. You can only return about two items a year without a receipt and I didn’t want to take the chance that someone would buy something without scanning it off the registry/including a gift receipt and I would need to return or exchange it for some reason (even if it is damaged). At least if they bought from Macy’s, there’s the sticker they attach on the bottom and other stores, such as C&B, are really good about returns for credit as well. Their site is also rather slow to load and in general, there’s just too many items for me to manage the registry well. I’ve also read online that people had problems scanning in-store as the barcodes on the shelf didn’t necessarily match the one on the actual item and people were getting random things (e.g. pacifiers!) on their registries. I registered at smaller, more specialized stores, like Sur La Table, and those were much easier to order, track and manage.

I didn’t have any problems but I have to say for a company their size, thier website is TERRIBLE! It moves so slow it is ridiculous! I dread it every month when I have to go on there to pay my CC.

@soonerbride: So did I!!! I registered there and my husband’s cousin sent us a gift from there. In it was a razor!
I was like “Wtf…does your cousin think I am hairy or something!!??”
