I’m not sure if this has to do with my mainly clean diet of fruits and veggies but lately artificial sweetners and preservatives have had a VERY distinct and unpleasant taste. I sat down with a bowl of orange sherbert last night, took one bite, and threw the rest away. I could NOT get the taste out of my mouth for the rest of the night.
Did your taste buds go wonky towards the end? Were there specific things you could no longer eat?
ETA I’m 31 weeks.

my taste buds were pretty crazy in the first trimester. i think it’s pretty common at any point during pregnancy cause your hormones are going bonkers! things i typically loved – coffee, chocolate – sounded repulsive to me and i didn’t go near them for weeks. meanwhile, stuff i was never crazy about – meat, spicy food – i couldn’t get enough of! in my third trimester i ate an insane amount of fruit – watermelon, pineapple, peaches, etc. i’ve always liked fruit but i couldn’t get enough – one week i ate an entire watermelon in 2 days!
