What a wonderful sentiment 🙂

I will never get a tattoo because I am a big baby when it comes to needles, but I think that it is great that you want to do this particular one, and I can truly picture it. It will be very beautiful.

The only concern that I have is what if it doesn’t heal in time for your wedding. Or it can’t be completed in time. I think your best option is to go to the tattoo place and see what their recommendations are as far as getting it done in time and how long it will take to heal. Even if you don’t get it before you wedding, I know that both of your grandparents will be smiling down on you and giving you their blessing and their love on your special day.

If you get it done fairly soon you should be all healed and ready to go for the wedding. PP is right, if you decide you don’t want it in pictures you can always cover it with makeup. I think it’s very sweet!

Wow, I actually started crying reading this, it’s so touching. If I were you, I would get it done beforehand. It will be like your grandparents are there with you, or as an honor to them on your wedding day. You should sport that tattoo with pride- not only does it sound beautiful, it has an amazing story and will add uniqueness to your bridal look. Forget what anyone else thinks! You, God, and your grandparents know better 🙂

How big is “pretty big”? Cus if you’re thinking HUGE you’ll need multiple sessions… and I’d advise against getting a huge tattoo if you don’t have any tattoos right now.

@SandAndSea: Do you want it colored in and everything or just outline? That’s not huge huge, so I’m sure you wont have a problem finding a tattoo artist to do it.

@SandAndSea: I think that will look amazing! Definitely not something you’d probably regret in the future. Try to get it done as soon as you can though, especially since you’re thinking of adding color in. The fun part about back tattoos is needing a buddy to help apply ointment and lotion 🙂

Awesome idea! Trust me, unless you’re ridiculously double jointed you are going to need a buddy! I would love to see it when it’s all done.
