Yuck…don’t mind the red spots on my back.  Early 20’s and probably that time of the month when that picture was taken.

SavannahJ051212:  I gotta ask who the guy on your thigh is? That is awsome portrait work! Also, is that Ariel in the one above it? Also nicely done!

BeeG35:  thanks! The ahimsa is actually a little crooked so I want to add something to it so it distracts a bit from it. Lol

here is my blue jay feather on my foot!

I want so many more.. An arrow, if I could ever decide on placement. im going to get “a lot lot lot”  across the top of my ribs (like under my bra).

I also will get a dragonfly either on my forearm or my bicep.

I have wanted a mandala on my shoulder cap for like ever but my fiancé is concerned it’ll look too bulky bc it might run into my clavicle tattoo. So idk. On my next vacation ill get a henna of it and try it out.

And I want my constellation that got ruined covered up by a wildflower bouquet.

And something to do with maple for my grandparents.. either a maple tree or a seedling.

Bridey77:  Yep, that’s Ariel.  I just got her done in June of this year.  The portrait is of my grandfather that passed away when I was 12-13.  The artist did an amazing job and kept asking the other artist (my usual one) if it looked right.  My usual artist, Tom, I know personally.  He dated my aunt and knew my grandfather.  It was a long 6 hours but I’m very happy with the results.  Here is the picture he went off of.

SavannahJ051212:  Excellent! You are always taking a risk with portriat work, but that one came out amazing. Can I ask why you got Ariel? She was always my fav Disney princess, her and Belle.

Bridey77:  My family now jokes that I have to keep space open for their portraits in the future.  Amelio, at Top Gear, did an awesome job on the portrait.  He took awhile to figure out how to do the beard just right and made sure I was the only appointment for the day so he could take his time.  Ariel is my favorite Disney princess and I was obsessed with the movie when I was a kid.

BeeG35:

Here’s mine. It is a paper moon I got to honor my nana. The quote is something she said to my siblings and I every night before she put us to bed or we parted. It is also the last thing she ever said to me. My tattoo artist was pretty incredible. If you get really close to the tattoo you can even see that the moon has very fine eye lashes.

Up next: My grandparent’s wedding anniversary on the same part of my back next to my nana’s tattoo. A quote, “You are not the mistakes you have made” on my forearm (the quote has become my mantra over the past few years); a tattoo inspired by Florence and the Machine; and finally a Harry Potter tattoo.

I’ve promised my mother no more tattoos until after the wedding so her head doesn’t explode.

I have a few but this is my most recent. I got it in memory of one of my best friends who died. She had a similar tattoo in the same spot, but instead of the lyrics she had I got her name. The flower on the left side actually is covering a scar I have from a mole I had removed about 5 years ago. I didn’t get the tattoo in that spot to cover the scar, but it just so happened that it fit perfectly there and you can’t really tell, except it did heal a little differently and may need a touch up because some of the ink did not hold as well in the scar tissue. Can’t really tell unless you look very closely though. I have always gone back and forth about getting any tattoos on my arm but I really would like to get something on my shoulder/upper arm area to go with that tattoo I have.

I expected the tattoo to be a little more painful than most because of its location, partially on the collarbone, but I was actually very surprised to find that it did not hurt very much at all, except a few places that were right over the bone. It hurt less than the tattoo I got on my calf, though, which I expected to be the least painful.

Here is a better angle to see placement.

And here is a side-by-side of my tattoo and the tattoo that my friend had. Mine is not identical to hers in style but I think they are similar.
