Wow so incredible. I knew for 10 years what I wanted for a tattoo and did a lot of soul searching. I feel so bad for people who have tattooes which they hate or where mistakes in there lives. Thank god treatments are becoming more available and there are good artists out there who are very careful on what they tattoo and on who.

@bestbuddies:     I have a black chinese symbol tattoo with a red outline that is in the same spot as yours but is closer to the size of your butterfly tattoo.  I totally understand your statement about “I feel so amazing! It is so nice to wear my hair up and not care or feel self concious”  …  since I am not chinese, I know people think I am ridiculous for getting it.  I always have to keep my hair long and always down,  at work my shoulders are always tense b/c I try to keep my blouse from shifting and exposing my neck and constantly pull my blouses forward so again, the tattoo is not showing (which causes the neck of my shirts/blouses to be stretched out).

It will definitely be liberating once it’s gone b/c it’s really been awful feeling so self conscious about something I have not been able to change.    Thank you SO much for posting this.  I can’t wait to get this done and have one less thing to obsess about in my life:)

Any updates?  I don’t know why, but I am just ENTHRALLED with your journey.  I have some tattoos that I don’t love, but luckily they are all pretty well hidden.  Now that I’ve seen your process, I would be scared to get it done!  I can’t wait to see the results though, and to see if you feel happy with the results.

Wow – just bumped into this thread by accident – started looking at this. The tat on your neck is gone, or appears to be gone. Great job. Did your Dr. say why your neck tat healed so smoothly and the butterfly one is giving you trouble? Is it the location? The saturation/coloration of ink? Is it just the thickness of skin in one area vs. another? This is so interesting to me. You’re very brave for going through all this to get rid of them, I don’t know too many people that would do this. Good luck, I hope you get them off as you wish, with minimal pain. Looks painful. Take Care.
