My tattoo is on my left wrist. It shows no matter what dress I wear. I bought my dress, it shows. Fiance and I are fine with it. It’s part of who I am.

It really is up to you. I say get the dress! If you don’t want your lower back ink showing (which it sounds like you don’t) consider getting Kat Von D’s Tattoo Coverup. It’s specifically formulated to cover up ink, and it doesn’t rub off. I actually use it as my every day concealer, it’s amazing! It’s about $25 and lasts a really long time.

Both of my tattoos are on my stomach, so they won’t show. But I would probably wind up covering them up if they were somewhere visible because Fiance isn’t a big fan. Too bad I’m getting more πŸ˜‰

I actually made sure I got my largest tattoo so far before the wedding.
This is the best pic I have once the tattoo was done:

The flowers go down my arm and around my back as well:

Then I have this on my back:

AND a key on my wrist to match my fi’s keyhole!:

I will make sure they all show as much as possible. πŸ™‚

@MrsWe:  If you don’t like it anymore, there are good make ups that can hide a tattoo.

The majority of my tattoos will show – a small one on on my left shoulder blade, one on my chest (well actually probably only part of it will show but nonetheless – I didn’t pick or not pick a dress because of it) and one on my foot. I’m proud of my tattoos, they are part of me, and I’m glad they’ll show! πŸ™‚

@MrsWe:  Feel your pain. I got a tramp stamp when I was 19 and HATE IT. Wish I could go back in time and punch myself in the face

I’m definitely showing mine off.  It’s between my shoulder blades and I don’t get enough opportunities to display it!  I actually got a text from the best woman the other day (Mr CL’s oldest friend) who wanted to double-check what our tattoo policy is.  I told her to show it off!  One of my bridesmaids has a lot of tats, as do both my and Mr CL’s mum.  I’m proud of mine but when I went to buy my dress, the lady in the shop kept asking me what I’m planning to use to cover it up.  I think she was a bit shocked that I want it on show.

I have a tattoo on my forearm, i don’t even want to hide it! But If I did, I’d use a cover up like others suggested. You should try on all the dresses you want, worry about the cover up after you fall inlove with a dress πŸ™‚

@MrsWe:  I love dresses like that too but did not bother because I have the same affliction (lower back tattoo) πŸ™ One thing I liked about my dress was that, since it was a keyhole back, it even hid the one on my right shoulder blade. The only one I could not hide was one on my left wrist but, oddly enough, I never even notice it even though it is right out in the open 99% of the time.

I probably couldn’t hide my tattoo in any dress lol. It’s a part of you so you should show it off! Or, you can always cover it with make up! If you love a dress you should get it. πŸ™‚ This is my tattoo & my dress. My dad still doesn’t even know I have it..he hates tattoos but oh well! I guess he’ll finally see it on my wedding day lol.

My tattoos are on my left wrist and across my collarbones, so they’re both definitely going to show. I know some of the older family members are going to be a little upset by it, but the way I see it… my tattoos are a part of who I am, and when it’s my big day, I don’t think I should have to hide any part of who I am.

I had one of mine showing and loved it… but I’m just classy like that!

I don’t know what I’m doing yet.  There’s no way to cover mine up with makeup, it’s half my back πŸ™‚  Lower left all the way up to my right shoulder.   His family doesn’t care, most of mine won’t care.  But my mother does.  She’s Japanese and it took her more than 10 years to admit that she liked it, and she’s still determined to have it covered for the wedding.  And yes, I get that I could tell her no, but this means a lot to her.  She wants to have pictures sent to her family in Japan, and if they saw ANY ink, they would have a catastrophic meltdown.  I’m looking at two options – a bolero for the cermony and off for the reception (which she would probably be fine with).  Or, having a dress with straps wide enough to cover it.
