I didn’t after my first one, but I had some major tattoo regret after my 2nd one. I love them both now. It passes!

Hmmm I have 9 tattoos and I’ve never felt that way about any of them.  I do get anxious about healing, because sometimes for me, it can take longer than the average person.  I’m sure that feeling will pass for you soon.

OP: Yay! That sounds awesome. Can you post a pic?

FWIW, I got my first (and only) tattoo last fall and I love it. For some reason it didn’t really ever freak me out that it’s premanent (and people would say my tattoo is more risky than yours — SO’s initials!). I was like, whatever. And now I don’t ever even notice it. I completely forget it’s there!

I’m sure you’ll end up loving yours. And if you ever get sick of it, slap a watch on your wrist! ๐Ÿ™‚

I felt that same alternating delight/regret after my third tattoo but now it’s my favorite and I love love LOVE it.

Yes, I wavered between loving my first (and only) tatoo and hating the permanance of it; thinking I made a mistake.  I love it now!  I think it is just difficult to adjust at first

I did the same thing. Except my first (and only) tattoo covers my entire shoulder and a 1/4 of my back. ๐Ÿ™  I worked on it forever, and thought about it for an eternity before I got it….

but as soon as it was finally finished, I freaked out a bit.  I seriously wanted it off.  But after a few months it passed, and I love it now.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I have that feeling sometimes when other people make me feel bad about it.  Like asking what it means and then scowling when I tell them.  Or saying how bad it will look when I get older.  But, I try really hard not to define myself by what others think.  I really like it and I’m happy with it over all.

I wavered on my second tattoo because it’s visible (my first is hidden). I’m totally used to it now and love it! May as well start loving it now… it’s permanent, haha.

This post is useless without pictures. Tongue Out

I have two. I don’t regret either one, but am feeling the need to add to them/fix them up since they are older. Maybe add more color to brighten them up, etc.

Yeah, I picked apart my tattoo when I first got it–tattoo artist referred to it as tribal, which was not a look I was going for. But now I love its simplicity.

I have 4 and I never felt that way. I think that because it holds so much meaning for you that it will pass. Plus even tho you don’t think DH’s comment made a difference, I am sure deep down it kinda did. Just sit tight and I am sure when it is all healed and you see how wonderful it looks you will be glad you did it!

@Miss Sorbet:  I have 6 tattoos. One on each shoulder, one on my thigh, one on each wrist and one covering 1/2 of my shin. Lol I have had the post tattoo freak out each time. Its something that wasnt there and now is and willbe there forever. Its like a foreign being on you. After I while, you will actually forget that its there. To mpe, its like getting to know someone lol, dont worry.
