@PacificMrs:  Just because they’re trendy, doesn’t mean they don’t have meaning to some people. I have a dandelion tattoo. It was the first one I got, and I still love it to this day.

I think that tattoo you posted is beautiful.  I do not really keep up with trends so I cannot say whether or not it is too trendy or whatever, but I love the colours in it.  I am more of a black ink kind of gal, but if I were going to get colour, it would be something like that.  So feminine!

I have tattoos all around my one thigh – it seemed like a good place to put them because nobody ever sees them in a business suit!  The front and outside of the thigh is a walk in the park, seriously.  The inside and back are a little more tender, but still no big deal.  Trust me on this one, because I have a very very low pain threshold!

Good luck with your decisions!

@mrspinesol:  Oh no, definitely not! If it has meaning that’s great and go for it! I’m all for beautiful, meaning ink and not so much for cute, trendy stuff. That’s all that I was getting at. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a sparrow with a breast cancer ribbon. I know sparrows are pretty trendy, but I got it for my aunt who passed away from breast cancer when I was 10. The bird represents a pendant she gave me.

@figgnewton:  As someone who daily listens to the unsolicited opinions of the masses on my tattoos……..get it if YOU like it.

I will say this to you, though: be very mindful of what you get and *where* if you have any plans of adding onto it. If you just want this one tattoo on your back, sure…but understand that if you want to incorporate more things, you’re kind of going to be committed to that theme if you want everything to look cohesive.

My sister has her kids birth month flowers and they are so pretty! If you got them done in the watercolor look it would be amazing!

@Aquaria:  I’d have to agree, plus the colors she chose makes it look like a bruise. The shoulder did not hurt tha bad when I got it done. Pain was pretty manageable.

I like the dandelion tattoo’s going on now, but I would be really worried about how many watercolor tatt’s would look after 10-20 years….

I’ve got multiple tatt’s including a garter on my thigh and like others have said the outside and topside really weren’t that bad at all. It was the back & even more so the inside that did me in. I’ve needed to have to band filled in for about 2 years but I haven’t got up the courage to go back yet…. The last few design posted I would say is perfect for the leg, arm, side….

@figgnewton:  I saw it on a guy at the gas station. Sorry. I recognized the style and asked him if it was from a particular lady ink artist in town. It was the same person that did DHs arm. I’m not sure what shop she’s in now, the one she was at closed. I will find her though when I get my new one, she does a particular fading technique that I’m a fan of and she does most of her work freehand.

I’m sure if you described the cursive thing to a more flowied styled artist they could come up with something. It would probably take a few tries, like any other ink work. Shoot, my first one the poor guy had to draw five times to get exactly what I wanted.

I think its pretty but I would personally avoid those colors… it kind of looks like a MASSIVE bruise.

@figgnewton:  Not yet, but not for a lack of trying. BF doesnt like leg tattoos, but we (myself and my artist) are working on getting him to see how dope it would look ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure I’ll prevail.

I have a coverup that needs done on my right hip, and the plan is to make it one big piece that goes down the side of my hip and stops mid-thigh.

@figgnewton:  i like the watercolour A LOT! But the design (dandelion) has been done to death. Looks to me like you are shopping for something meaningful, so get something unique to you – like the girls’s flowers or whatever.  I don’t know about the thigh, but if you want to show it off then shoulder all the way ๐Ÿ™‚
