I have 4…(ironically I’m using Wrecking Balm to try to get rid of them…) but I’d say that the worst part is the anxiety and the initial touch of the needle.  After that, it’s a dull constant pain that you get used to.  It gets a little worse depending on how thin the skin is, so that one on your wrist might not be too fun, but honestly, the sensation is mild enough that most “wusses” can handle it 🙂

In general the pain isn’t too bad after the first few minutes, but you may want to pick a different part of the body for your first tattoo, because fore-arms are reeeeeally sensitive and that’s going to be one of the more painful places to have inked up.

My first tattoo was on my wrist. It did not hurt at all. It took like 20 mins to do and its nothing, and I am a big wuss too.

I got a tattoo close to that spot! It wasn’t terrible or anything, but it definitely hurt more when it came to the shading! It just hurts to go over the same spot a few times, but it was worth it. 🙂

I liken the pain of both my tattoos to someone digging their nails into my skin pretty hard and slowly. It’s not pleasant by any means, but I think it’s tolerable, and I think you could handle it there unless you’re a huge wuss about pain. And the pain really does numb up a bit after the first minute or two. Don’t let pain be the thing that stops you.

I have a large flower tattoo on the top of my foot, and it was the WORST pain I have ever felt lol! But to be fair that has a lot of color and shading. I also have tattoos on both my ankles and my back. That tattoo on your wrist will go SO fast, it will hurt, but, if it is something you really you will be so happy you did it!! If you really want the tattoo, the 20 min of pain will be worth it. I don’t think it will take quite that long though. It is kind of like an annoying pinch over and over (IMO) lol! I think it is awesome tattoo 🙂

@rubybride718:  Is Wrecking Balm working at all for you?  If so, what color is your tattoo?  I have one that I am really wanting to get rid of also and it is red and black.

@rubybride718:  How is the wrecking balm working for you?! I REALLY want to get it for a tattoo on my back! It is kind of a “jailhouse” tattoo it is really faded. But it is my daughter’s BIO father’s name so I really want it removed. I don’t have the $ to blow on laser removal and don’t want another tattoo to cover it.

I have one on my wrist in that same place–it honestly wasn’t bad at all. The only place that was kind of painful was near the bone, otherwise it just felt kind of like a pinch, and after the first thirty seconds you get used to it.

My first tattoo was on my calf and it really didn;t hurt that much (this from a woman who won’t even pluck eyebrows because it hurts too much!). The second was on my back, between my shoulder blades and that hurt a lot more.
